Helen Flanagan teases Corrie return ‘when the time is right’ 10 years after exit

Helen Flanagan revealed she would “love” to return to Coronation Street five years after she bid farewell to the ITV Cobbles.

The blonde bombshell first rose to fame when she took over the role of Rosie Webster from Emma Collinge back in 2000.

She quickly became a fan favourite as viewers watched her grow up on the long-running programme as Sally and Kevin Webster’s rebellious daughter.

But in 2012, the actress decided to leave the soap to pursue other acting opportunities much to the heartache of her adoring fans up and down the country.

After making a brief reappearance in 2017, Helen left again in 2018 to go back onto maternity leave to have her daughter Delilah.

Now, in an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the mum-of-three has revealed that she would “love” to return to the show “when the time is right.”

After she posed up a storm on the red carpet at the Pride of Manchester Awards on Wednesday (May 10), the TV star shared her love for the ITV programme.

She gushed: “I'd love to go back to Corrie, I really, really would, but it has to be when the time’s right because my little boy’s only young, he’s just turned one.”

When she was asked how her character has changed since she last appeared on the show, Helen suggested that Rosie would be a mother similarly to her.

She went on: “I'd like to see Rosie be a mum, I think that would be interesting. I think she would palm Sally off with the kids and then just go and do anything that she wants.”

Less than a year after she left Coronation Street in 2012, the TV star joined the star-studded cast of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here where she grew a reputation for refusing to do trials on the ITV show.

But the doting mum smashed viewers expectations when she returned to the reality show for I’m A Celebrity… South Africa last September.

This time around the soap star came back as a new woman, as viewers hailed her success as she smashed every Bushtucker trial during her time on the show.

Unfortunately, Helen was booted from the pre-recorded show last week despite giving it everything she had, with fans showering her with congratulatory comments online.
