Iain Lee says his life has changed after coming out as bisexual as he admits he won’t be ‘queening up’

IAIN Lee has said his life has changed since coming out as bisexual as he admits he won’t be “queening up”.

The broadcaster revealed his sexuality on his radio show recently,  just months after splitting from his wife Helena – and says he’s now in a “great place”.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain today, he said: “I came out as bisexual and now I have said it on TV so it must be real.

“I was full of shame. It has lifted a huge weight and nearly everyone has been brilliant and it’s not a big thing, it’s not like I am now going to go around and start queening up and going out with loads of guys and stuff.

“That’s not what it is about, it’s about saying I have done this stuff in the past that I have had a lot of shame about and I don’t need to be ashamed about it.

“I am in a great place.  My life has changed.”

Discussing what led to him coming out, he said: “I had a really horrible year, I was involved in a really nasty car crash that messed me up so I was seeing a therapist and as we were talking about that we kind of latched onto some abuse that I had as a young man.

“We worked out why I used to take drugs and it turns out that probably a lot of the anxiety, the depression and the drug taking was around not being true to who I am so I came out. And everyone went ‘oh well, who cares?’”

Iain announced he had split from Helena – the mum of his two sons – last year following his stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

The TalkRadio host – who previously battled drug addiction – admitted at the time that the news had made him feel close to the edge and he had been “obsessing about drugs”.
