Inside Tom Cruise's daughter's ordinary life in Croydon with British husband and pet reptile

TOP Gun star Tom Cruise lives a glamorous A-lister lifestyle as one of Hollywood's most-loved actors.

But things are very different for his daughter Bella Kidman Cruise – who prefers a quiet life in Croydon with her husband and pets.

Isabella, 29, who is the eldest child of Tom, 59, and Nicole Kidman – was adopted by the former couple in 1992 as a tiny baby.

But instead of living in Los Angeles where most of her family is, or working in the film industry, she lives a normal life in south London.

Bella and her husband Max Parker's three-bedrom property is close by to his parents, and they share their home with their pet lizard.

The Scientologist is said to have turned down her dad's offer for a £324,000-a-month penthouse when she first moved to London.

The Top Gun actor is thought to own a sprawling property near 10 Downing Street with an indoor swimming pool.

According to her neighbours, Bella prefers to "live out of the spotlight" and is "very mysterious", keeping herself to herself.

A source said: "I wouldn’t have known her if she’d come up and smacked me in the face. I don’t keep up with celebrity culture.

"They have a reptile of some kind — we can see the red light of the tank. That’s all anybody seems to know. She’s very mysterious.

"I suppose she’s decided to live out of the spotlight. I don’t know why she’s chosen Croydon, though."

Isabella keeps her following up to date on her private life on social media, as she made a rare appearance during last year's World Cup.

She shared a selfie as she supported Gareth Southgate's England squad in the final, adding an England flag to the caption.

The t-shirt designer also occasionally posts pictures of hubby Max, an IT consultant, who she wed in 2015 after meeting through friends.

Their reception was at London private members’ club Shoreditch House – with her famous parents missing from the guest list.

The couple then moved into the £535,000 Croydon semi in 2017, ferrying their stuff from their house nearby in Bella’s Fiat 500.

Despite her parents' wealth of over £600million, Isabella has always earned her own money with her artistic designs.

She sells limited edition artwork prints from £25, and trendy tote bags with her designs on for £15.

HOME LIFE

Bella was eight years old when her parents Tom and Nicole, 54, separated and she initially split her time between them.

While she and Connor were with Tom, he would take them to Scientology sessions in Clearwater, Florida, where they heard followers speak of attaining “spiritual freedom”.

In 2004, instead of spending time with Nicole, they were packed off to a Scientology summer camp.

The following year, they were living with Tom full-time and being homeschooled by his sister Cass.

After her parents’ divorce in 2001, she and Connor lived in LA with Tom, who also has Suri, 12, with his third ex-wife Katie Holmes.

WORK IN SCIENTOLOGY

Bella has told how she was “drowning in problems” before training as a Scientology “auditor” — effectively a counsellor who helps other believers shed “spiritual distress” using an “E-meter”.

The device is similar to a lie detector and delivers low-voltage electricity to the subject.

Bella said in an email sent to fellow Scientologists in London: “This is what I had been searching for. The missing piece. Thank you to my dad for everything.”

Scientology was started by sci-fi author L Ron Hubbard and claims that humans are vessels for the spirits of immortal “thetans”, frozen souls deposited on Earth by the galactic emperor Xenu.

Nicole insists she is happy with her kids’ choices, previously saying: “They are adults. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them.”

Despite rumours of a rift in 2018 – when Nicole forgot to mention daughter Bella in a Golden Globes speech – she insisted they "talk".

“Of course we talk — they’re my parents. Anyone who says otherwise is talking s**t," she concluded.
