This year’s Strictly Come Dancing finalists will take to the dance floor for the last time tonight as they perform three routines as they battle it out for the Glitterball Trophy. TV chef John Whaite and EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis are the two remaining celebrities in the competition as presenter AJ Odudu was forced to drop out due to an injury. However, John’s suffered a blow just hours before the live BBC show as it looks as though Rose is set to be crowned Strictly champion.

Rose is leading the way with popularity on social media as new statistics reveal her Instagram following has seen the highest increase out of all the celebrity contestants on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing series.

Online casino experts CasinoTop10 analysed the Instagram followings of this year’s celebrity cast members to reveal who had the highest increase since the launch show.

The follower counts of each star’s account were taken from September 18 and compared with their current number of followers.

Rose has seen the biggest increase in popularity on Instagram as she’s gained 379,246 followers since the launch show.

The soap star’s follower count has risen from 22,300 to 401,546 – a 1,700 percent increase.

Meanwhile, John doesn’t seem to be quite as popular on Instagram as he had the third highest increase in followers.

The TV chef’s Instagram has gained 144,628 followers since the series launched.

He currently has only 255,066 followers on the popular social media site.

Meanwhile, bookmakers also seem to be backing Rose to take home the Glitterball Trophy this year.

According to Ladbrokes, the EastEnders star has odds of 1/16 that she’ll be crowned Strictly champion.

Unfortunately, the bookies have John way behind with odds of 10/1 to take the series win.

Ladbrokes spokesperson Alex Apati said: “AJ’s unfortunate exit means it’s now a two-horse race for this year’s Strictly crown, although the odds suggest John Whaite is simply making up the numbers at this point.”

Rose will be hoping to win the series with her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice.

The couple were joint top of the leaderboard last week alongside AJ and Kai Widdrington.

Both dance duos scored a total of 79 points from the judges for their two routines last week.

Meanwhile, John and his dance partner Johannes Radebe were close behind with a total score of 78.

On Saturday night’s final each couple are expected to perform three dances as they battle it out for the title of Strictly champion.

They will perform two routines they’ve showcased in the competition previously, as well as a new show dance.

Their fate will be left down to the public vote.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7:10pm on BBC One.
