Jurassic Park actress Ariana Richards looks completely different nearly 30 years on after becoming a painter

JURASSIC World will roar back into cinemas this summer, but we all remember the child star of the original 1993 film.

Ariana Richards played brave Lex in Jurassic Park, the first box office smash in the franchise which launched six impressive sequels.

The child star was 13 when she filmed Steven Spielberg's blockbuster about a dinosaur theme park where the beasts ran riot and terrorised those who ran the attraction.

But these days Ariana, who is now 42, lives a very different life away from the bright lights of Hollywood.

Ariana is now a full time painter and has focused on her art career for much of her adult life.

She looks completely different from the young girl who was terrified of the prowling raptors who wanted to make her their lunch.

All grown up, the attractive artist she sports long honey blonde locks and is based on the West Coast of America in Oregon.

The area is known for being an enclave for creatives and artsy types.

Ariana married her husband Mark in 2013 and gave birth to a daughter, now seven, in 2015.

While she is focused on her painting these days, Jurassic Park was not her final foray in the world of film.

She also starred in the 1997 sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and a couple of low budget horrors, including direct-to-video flick Tremors 3 and TV movie, Battledogs.

The latest movie in the franchise, Jurassic World: Dominion hits cinemas on June 10th.

It stars some of the stars of the original movie, including Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum, who will join Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard for the epic blockbuster.

It is not yet known whether Ariana will join them in the movie, but some fans on social media have speculated she may make a surprise cameo.
