Clarkson’s Farm followed Jeremy Clarkson as he learned about farming from locals and his dedicated team. The series didn’t get off to the best of starts as Jeremy failed to get to grips with the basic requirements of running a farm, leaving Kaleb frustrated and annoyed. Now, the presenter has detailed how the farm manager frequently gets cross at him.

As Jeremy tried to take control of his 1,000-acre working farm in the Cotswolds, 21-year-old farm manager Kaleb became irritated at Jeremy’s struggle to get into the swing of farming life.

The two often clashed as problems regarding harvesting, driving a tractor, and seeding quickly arose.

Revealing the problems are still ongoing, Jeremy explained how he riles up Kaleb by constantly calling him for advice.

“Even now, and it’s been nearly two years, I still look at the back of my tractor, and I’ve watched Kaleb a thousand times putting things on and taking things off, and I’m still not 100 percent certain how to do it,” he said.

“And I want to, I’d love to be able to go out and hook up the drill. But I have to ring Kaleb and then he gets cross.”

Commenting on his struggle to learn, he added to Farmer’s Weekly: “I listen, well I try to listen, as much as I can.”

Kaleb has witnessed Jeremy tackle tractoring, sheep herding, opening a farm shop to sell his own produce, learning to become a naturalist, harvesting, and fearsome weather, most with less than perfect outcomes, much to his annoyance.

The farm manager has done his best to remain calm, especially when Jeremy would come to him claiming to be in a “muddle” about what he’s doing.

Throughout Clarkson’s Farm, viewers saw Kaleb losing his temper with Jeremy when he’d not followed his instructions properly.

When cultivating the fields, Kaleb was horrified to learn his boss had not left enough space for him to fertilise the crops.

“What have you done?” he exclaimed. “When I come to spray it and fertilise it, how do I know where to drive?”

Jeremy sheepishly replied: “I’ve learnt my lesson now, I won’t do it again.”

Kaleb, 21, had previously farmed the farm for three years, and has a contracting business on the side, which impressed the host.

He also shocked him when he revealed he knew the names of every single field, and their placements on a map.

However, despite his lack of experience, Jeremy has tried his best to learn from the farm manager.

His partner Lisa Hogan admitted while Jeremy had no idea what he was doing when he bought the Cotswold farm, he has been learning.

“There was a big learning curve, but he’s such a prolific character, once he puts his head to something it’s just full-on,” she detailed.

It’s also led to Jeremy expressing admiration for farmers who “all know what they’re talking about”.

“They’re pretty good,” he remarked.
