Kelly Clarkson is ‘working on a new album’ as she copes with divorce from Brandon Blackstock – The Sun

KELLY Clarkson is ‘working on a new album’ as she copes with divorcing Brandon Blackstock.

The couple announced their divorce last month after seven years of marriage.

An insider told People of Kelly keeping busy and working on new music: "Kelly is a doer, a pusher, someone who forges ahead even when it's difficult for her.

"Being busy is a blessing and she knows that."

Other sources added of the first American Idol winner: "Music builds her up even if her songs are confronting her troubles.

"Kelly will come out of this a stronger person."

Amid her split, she has also been working on her daytime talk show as well preparing for a new season of The Voice.

Last week the 38-year-old mom of two won Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.

She thanked her music manager ex-husband tweeting: “Thank you so much to @BBlackstock for believing in me & convincing me to do @KellyClarksonTV show.”

Sources also told People this acknowledgment did come as a surprise admitting: "Brandon's confidence in her talent and his ability to push the right buttons for her has been great for her career.

"Kelly's excited, proud and grateful."

Since announcing her divorce, the pop star also took the couple's $10m Los Angeles home off the market.

The eight-bedroom farmhouse went up for sale in May, but the listing page now says the property has been "withdrawn/cancelled."

According to TMZ, the pop star initially listed her San Fernando Valley property for $9,995,000.

The 10,000-square-foot mansion sits on a half-acre of land and also features a two-level guest house next to the outdoor BBQ station, pool and jacuzzi.

The Voice coach filed for divorce from husband Brandon, 43, on June 4.

Kelly and Brandon, who is also the singer's manager, got married in 2013.

They have two children together, daughter River Rose, 5, and son Remington Alexander, 4.

She also is stepmom to Seth, 13, and Savannah, 18, from the music executive’s previous relationship.
