Loose Women’s Linda Robson opens up about how overcoming crippling health condition ‘transformed her life’ | The Sun

LOOSE Women star Linda Robson has opened up about how overcoming her crippling health condition "transformed her life".

The TV panellist revealed that she had her varicose veins in her legs treated after they ruined her "self-esteem" and "self-confidence".

Birds of a Feather star Linda, 64, admitted that the condition would stop her from showing off her legs.

The TV favourite – who explained she became conscious of the veins after her third child Bobbie, now 26 – went on to have them removed.

She told The Mirror: "I became increasingly conscious of the veins on my legs and it really started to gnaw away at my self-esteem.

"I’d go to crazy lengths to hide them, which didn’t do wonders for my self-confidence."

Linda went on to reveal that during her time on I'm A Celebrity in 2012, she brought a "sarong" to hide her legs from the cameras.

“My sister, who has varicose veins, just gets on with it, but because I am in the public eye I’ve never felt right about mine,” she added.

“I paid to have a course of microsclerotherapy done in my early fifties and I felt much better for it afterwards.”

The treatment involves the affected veins being injected with a chemical to make them shrivel and disappear – but is not permanent.

Linda revealed that despite the treatment she had new thread veins from "ageing", as well as "climbing Ben Nevis, jumping out of an aeroplane and swimming with sharks".

She went through a second course of microsclereotherpy more recently, and feels now that her legs "look better than ever".

“Psychologically it’s been a real boost to my self-esteem," she concluded. "I’m nothing like as self conscious.”

It comes after Linda shocked panellists with a confession about her marriage – admitting she's never undressed around her husband.

She has been married to husband Mark Dunford for more than three decades but revealed he never watches her take off her clothes.

"My mum is Catholic and we never saw her undressed – I go in the bathroom. My kids have seen me undressed but my husband hasn’t," she explained.
