Lorraine Kelly shared an update on presenter Eamonn Holmes after he rushed into hospital with health worries.

As her show began Friday morning, the ITV presenter shared well wishes for friend Eamonn and told viewers he will definitely be returning to This Morning.

Eamonn and wife Ruth Langsford are due to cover Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby during the Easter holidays.

"I know that everybody would want to wish our Eamonn a speedy recovery. He's not been too well," she said.

"He's a total trooper. He's in chronic pain, and had to go to the hospital yesterday," the presenter explained. "But he will definitely be on This Morning next week. You know what he's like, nothing's gonna stop him.

"But I think it's really good, he's also going to be talking about chronic pain, what causes it.

"An awful lot of people suffer from that and it's really hard to get to the bottom of it."

Eamonn shared the news via Twitter yesterday, alongside a selfie of him wearing a face mask and looking incredibly pained and unhappy.

"At hospital… pain like I've never experienced in my life," he told alarmed fans. "Need to find out what's causing this. Wish me well. "
