Love Island 2022 has seen its fair share of ups and downs, but as the series draws to a close over the next few weeks – the islanders will need to prepare for what's to come.

When the original cast of this year's series headed to Spain and into the famous villa, they were just normal people with very normal jobs.

But when they exit the villa and the series comes to an end – their lives will fast become something unrecognisable and a million miles away from what they once knew.

Showered with opportunities, Instagram deals and brand collaborations – former Love Island contestants go on to make thousands of pounds, as well as garnering national and global fame.

But what did this year's set of contestants get up to before they flew out to infamous villa?

From fish monger to waitress, paramedic to rugby player, Daily Star explores what the 2022 islanders' day jobs were prior to this life-changing opportunity.

Paige Thorne

Welsh brunette beauty Paige is just 24 years of age and worked as a Paramedic in Swansea prior to heading onto the reality-dating show.

Coming out of the villa will no doubt be a shock to Paige – especially when she's bombarded with brand collaborations and sponsorship deals.

Now that she's coupled up with Adam Collard – who entered last week as a returning bombshell from a past season – she and her new beau could team up for a slew of sexy business partnerships.

Dami Hope

26-year-old Dami was a Senior Microbiologist from Dublin before his stint in the villa.

With more than 200,000 followers on Instagram, will brand collaborations prove too tempting for him to head back to his day job?

Coupled up with Indiyah Polack, the power couple will more than likely rack up collabs and sponsorships to keep their bank accounts ticking over.

Indiyah Polack

Indiyah, 23, worked as a hotel waitress and fashion model in London before jetting out to Spain for the summer.

Usually she'd be serving customers, but when she exits the villa later this month she'll likely be thrown into the world of influencing, fashion and beauty – headfirst!

Nearing 400,000 followers, the stunning star will likely make thousands of pounds off the back of her stint on the ITV2 show.

Jacques O'Neil

Jacques, 23, who recently exited the show, is a Professional rugby player from Barrow-in-Furness.

The Cumbrian lad left the show last week after being unable to control his emotions – ultimately leaving the villa in order to preserve and take care of his mental health.

Despite his early exit, Jacques will likely rack up a number of collaborations with various brands – as well as staying in his job.

Tasha Ghouri

Tasha, 23, is the first ever deaf contestant to enter the show, and before she did she worked as a model and dancer.

The blonde beauty is from Thirsk in Yorkshire.

Having previously modelled for the likes of ASOS, Tasha already has links to the fashion industry – which will likely serve her well with her career post Love Island.

And with her secret link to and friendship with Strictly Come Dancing star Rose Ayling-Ellis, and past alleged romance with Giovanni Pernice – she has a history of mingling with celebrities galore, making her the ideal person for brands to work with.

Davide Sanclimenti

Hilarious Italian stallion Davide is 27, and worked as a businessman from Rome, Italy before signing up the the ITV2 show.

The hunky heartthrob who is known for coming up with the best one-liners of the season, has more than 445,000 Instagram followers – making him a prime person for fashion brands and modelling agencies to swoop up.

With his ripped physique and protruding abs, you could definitely see Davide as the face of aftershave adverts and on billboards with his shirt off.

It's safe to say that he won't be short of work post Love Island.

Gemma Owen

Gemma, 19, worked as an international dressage rider and business owner from Chester before entering the villa.

And not only this, but she's the daughter of footballer Michael Owen, too.

With a passion for her horses, it's no doubt that she will go back to her day job when she exits the villa and leaves the summer of a lifetime behind.

But it's a sure-fire thing that Gemma will be inundated with brand collaborations and business opportunities too.

When she was announced for the show she had more than 41,000 Instagram followers, but today (upon writing this article) she has 880,000 – meaning she's the ideal candidate to become a powerful influencer.

Andrew Le Page

27-year-old Andrew was a real estate agent, from Guernsey before heading into Love Island, but lived in Dubai.

He had less than 8,000 followers before heading into the villa and now boasts of more than 200,000.

Coupled up with model Tasha Ghouri – with the pair now officially boyfriend and girlfriend- this power couple will likely secure a slew of partnerships with brands.

Luca Bish

23-year-old Luca was a fishmonger from Brighton before flying out to Spain and telling Michael Owen's daughter Gemma that he loved her.

Luca's life will no doubt be completely unrecognisable when he lands back in the UK, and a far cry from his fish mongering days.

But despite it all, Gemma's sister Claudia reckons he'll stay in his day job once he gets home.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star earlier this month, she revealed: "It wouldn't surprise me at all. He didn't go on it with the view of anything other than it being a really fun experience…"

Love Island airs nightly at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub
