Love Island fans gobsmacked over Liams age as he celebrates 22nd birthday

Love Island hunk Liam Reardon celebrated his 22nd birthday in the villa on Thursday's episode but some fans were in disbelief when they discovered his real age.

In the opening of the show, the Welsh lad was treated to a sing-along with pal Jake Cornish and later had pancakes for breakfast prepared by his partner Millie Court.

But although Liam's big day was going to plan, some viewers were gobsmacked when they realised that Liam was only 22-years-old.

Even though the young lad's age was previously publicised last month, many viewers couldn't quite believe that Liam was so young and assumed he was much older.

Taking to Twitter, fans shared their views on Liam's age.

"Looool HOW IS LIAM ONLY 21?? He looks 34," one viewer tweeted.

Another viewer added: "I refuse to believe Liam is only 22 when he looks like that."

While a third penned: "Liam is NOT 22 man somebody is lying to us."

Another confused viewer said of the scenes: "So Liam is still lying about turning 22??" as another joked: "Happy Birthday, Liam. 38 today. Erm, I mean 22."

Despite Liam trying his best to enjoy the remainder of his birthday, it was unfortunately overshadowed by Jake and Liberty Poole's break up.

Viewers at home also noticed that Liam's big day was also slightly demolished by Jake and Liberty and aired their views on Twitter.

One fan said: "Justice for Liam they ruined his birthday."

Another fan agreed with this statement and penned: "Lets just take a minute to think of poor Liam. Not a single fuck given for his birthday will all the drama."

A third viewer penned: "Yeah they could have put Liam and Millie on a date for his birthday."

"Probably the most depressing birthday for Liam," a fourth said.

Liberty and Jake were going through a rather turbulent time on Thursday, after Liberty confessed that she can no longer be in a relationship with Jake.

Unbeknownst to Jake, Liberty was picking up on his hostility and didn't like the fact that he mentioned her "messiness" was an "ick".

Breaking down in tears, Liberty confessed that she wanted someone who loved every part of her and didn't feel like her affection towards Jake was not being reciprocated.

In dramatic scenes to follow, Liberty decided to end things with Jake. But will she decide to give him another chance?
