Love Islands Brad and Aaron swoon over new islander Gemma Owen

Former Love Islanders Brad McClelland and Aaron Francis have taken to Instagram to swoon over newly-announced contestant on Love Island, Gemma Owen.

The 19 year old dressage rider is the daughter of former England and Liverpool football ace, Michael Owen, being the offspring of an existing celebrity, her signing is no doubt a coup for the popular ITV dating show.

Love Island announced she was one of the first contestants, writing: “International dressage rider Gemma is trading in her riding boots to score a strapping lad #LoveIsland "

Brad, who appeared on the seventh series of Love Island in 2021, commented on the photo with a number of fire emojis.


Aaron, who appeared on the same season of the show as Brad, wrote on Brad’s comment: " @brad_mcclell don’t kill me” Brad then replied to him, writing: "@aaronfranciis what you saying?"

Speaking about why she has decided to go on thepopular ITV dating series, stunning brunette, Gemma, said: "I am open to finding love, I'm wanting to have a really fun summer. I was seeing someone, and then that didn't work out so I thought, "Why not?”

"I would say I'm fun, flirty and fiery. I think I'm good at giving advice, I'm a good person to talk to, I'm very honest. If I want the same guy, I'd do it but in a nice respectful way," the 19 year old added.

So far, ten contestants have been announced as the brand new Islanders that are set to be seen on the show as it kicks off for its eighth season on June 6.

Brad McClelland, 26, entered the Love Island villa, in Majorca, on Day 1 of the 2021 series, where he coupled up with Faye Winter, however he failed to recouple on Day 5.

On Day 6, he was then chosen by new girl Rachel, to go on a date, and the pair subsequently coupled up. He changed his partner again on Day 9, after new girl Lucinda opted to take him on a date.

After Brad chose to couple up with Lucinda on Day 14, before the pair received the fewest votes from viewers, and had to decide which one of them would leave the villa, ultimately deciding on Brad.

Aaron, 25, from London, lasted much longer on the show than Brad, having entered the villa on Day 1. He had many a coupling during his time in the villa, having been on dates or coupling up with Shannon, Chloe, Sharon, Lucinda, Millie, Kaz and finally, he couple up with Lucinda on Day 25, before they left the show on Day 28.

Ultimately, Millie Court and Liam Reardon were crowned the winners of Love Island 2021, and scooped the £50,000 prize money.
