Love Island’s Brett Staniland has received support from his twin brother, Scott, after fans took to social media to insult his footwear in Monday’s episode.

While Brett wasn’t having the best time in the villa as partner Priya Gopaldas told the girls that she had the "ick" and called him "boring", viewers had spotted his sandals and begun to roast him online too.

Quick to support his twin brother however, Scott posted a snap to his Instagram story as the episode aired, showing himself wearing the same socks and sandals as his brother.

He added the caption: “Just me?”

Fans watching the show had been commenting on the footwear, with one person saying: "I try so hard to have Brett’s back and then he wears shoes like that."

Another tweeted: “did brett get dressed in the dark tonight bc wtf is this #loveisland”.

A third made reference to Priya saying Brett gave her the “ick” by commented: “No offense but Brett’s shoes alone would’ve given me the ick”.

Brett and Priya's blossoming romance came to a halt as Priya confided in the girls that she found the model to be “boring” and said that he gave her the 'ick.'

Brett confronted Priya after the boys privately told him what had been said, but while the couple initially agreed to try, Priya found it hard to get over small details in Brett’s personality, like his cheese preferences, and friend zoned him.

She said: "I just feel like his energy is like below mine and it's quite draining, sucking the fun out of me. Just small things, like his favourite cheese.

"I'm sure he said something like really boring, I don't know, like brie. I want someone to be like: 'I'll try all different kinds of cheese, the smellier the better!', that kind of thing.

"I feel like he's the kind of person who just sticks in his comfort zone."

Not long after they decided to be friends, the pair were dumped from the villa after being voted the least compatible couple by viewers.

Before leaving, Priya pulled Faye Winter aside to tell her that she and Brett hadn’t been one of the three couples who nominated Faye and Teddy for least compatible, leading to an enticing preview for tonight’s episode that show’s Faye getting angry at Jake over the situation.
