Love Islands Indiyah confesses awkward tension between her and Ikenna

Love Island star Indiyah Polack admits she's been feeling "awkward tension" between her and her partner Ikenna Ekwonna during tonight's instalment of the ITV2 series.

The couple were paired up during the launch show after a surprise twist from presenter Laura Whitmore revealed the public had chosen the couples for the first time ever.

And while she wasn't sure about the decision initially, 23 year old Indiyah later told the Beach Hut that she assumed they must have something in common as viewers had put them together.

Despite that, a few days in the villa hasn't seen the duo's connection grow.

Speaking to Ikenna about their relationship in tonight's show, Indiyah probes: “Is there a bit of awkward tension between us?”

“I am attracted to you," the hunky beau assures her. "I just don’t feel like I need to force convos.

"I don’t want to be too pushy. I want to give you time.”

Indiyah isn't convinced by Ikenna's approach, but agrees that it's still "early days" and they should "spend more time getting to actually know each other".

“I wouldn’t be speaking to you if I didn’t think there could be something there," Ikenna then tells her.

"I also don’t want you to feel that you can’t speak to other people.”

Despite the pair's awkward beginnings, true love could still blossom as hotel worker Indiyah reveals she's still keen to get to know her partner before she moves on to explore connections with other people.

It comes as the the beauty admitted she couldn't remember Ikenna's name after they'd been paired up.

Speaking to new pal Amber Beckford, 24, during Tuesday night's edition, the girls ended up giggling as they realised neither could.

"Sorry what did you just call him?" Amber asked after the star made a gigantic faux pas.

"Is that not his name, no, it's really disrespectful. What is his name?" Indiyah queried, but as the pair struggled, Indiyah lamented that she hadn't yet felt attraction to her partner.

"He's good looking, tall, lovely, but not tingling," the star said. "He's good looking but I'm not like 'mmmm I really want to rip your clothes off'.

"But, he's a nice guy. Do you know what I mean? But just because you're a nice guy doesn't mean you have a connection," Indiyah said.

Time will tell if the couple manage to feel the spark in the next episode…
