Max shocked that Gail in Coronation Street kissed Gerard Butler

David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) was giving Max Turner (Paddy Bever) a history lesson in tonight’s Coronation Street.

They were talking about life before mobile phones, with David telling his son that people would communicate using landlines.

He also said that if the answer machine was full, the voice messages wouldn’t process – so sometimes an attempt at relaying information was pretty much pointless.

Max couldn’t understand it, pointing out it’s a bit strange to call the house phone continuously until you catch the right moment someone is in.

David then revealed they used to have a butler at home, who would answer the phone and take messages when people weren’t around.

Poor Max fell for it hook, line and sinker!

David told Max they had the butler, Gerard, before he arrived, so of course he doesn’t remember much about it.

Oh, and then he said they got rid of Gerard Butler in the end, as Gail (Helen Worth) made a pass at him!
