Throughout the series, the show uses narrators to reveal the character’s innermost feelings and thoughts about whatever situation they were going through.

This was also the case in season one when former tennis player John McEnroe narrated Devi Vishwakumar (played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) thoughts as she juggled her studies, high school crushes and dealing with the death of her father.

In episode one, her love interest Paxton Hall-Yosida (Darren Barnet) also had a voiceover and it was a familiar, yet unexpected voice.

Supermodel Gigi had been cast to take over the role of narrator after Chrissy gave up the position.

Chrissy Teigen has decided to step away from a guest voiceover role in one episode of the upcoming second season of Never Have I Ever. The role is expected to be recast.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, Chrissy’s voice was only recently removed as the series premiered for advance screening with her voice.

It came after TV star Courtney Stodden claimed Chrissy had repeatedly cyberbullied her.

Chrissy apologised on May 12 stating she was “ashamed and completely embarrassed at her behaviour”.

She added she “was a troll, full stop” adding: “I am so sorry.”

Opening the episode, Gigi began: “You may be asking yourself, ‘Why is old Gig-ers taking time out of her busy skedge to narrate the story of a 16-year-old boy?

Screenrant.com reports despite Gigi and Chrissy both having a different style of narration, Chrissy had mentioned her Asian heritage as something she and Paxton shared in common.

They also claimed Chrissy’s narration was more “lively and playful” whereas Gigi took a more “cool and relaxed” tone for Paxton.

Despite the change of narrators, it appears Paxton’s story hasn’t been lost and fans are expected to see a new side of him this season.

There was speculation Chrissy speaking about her heritage in the voiceover could mean it was something the teenage heartthrob was going to explore.

Would it be Paxton, the popular guy at school that all the girls fancied or would she decide to date Ben Gross (Jaren Lewinson) the guy she was academically completing with, who confessed his feeling for her?
