When will NBC release new ‘This Is Us’ Season 5 episodes?

After a month-long hiatus, This Is Us Season 5 will return for its final three episodes starting Tuesday, May 11, 2021. The all-new episode will focus on multiple Pearson storylines, from Beth’s (Susan Kelechi Watson) to Kevin’s (Justin Hartley) reunion with a familiar face. 

That said, many This Is Us fans are curious to see where Kate and Toby’s storyline is headed in episode 14. According to NBC’s synopsis, the couple will face “unexpected issues.”

What happened to Kate and Toby in ‘This Is Us’ Season 5?

While Kate and Toby faced some hardships in This Is Us Season 4, the couple seemed stronger than ever at the start of season 5. They worked together to adopt baby, Hailey Rose. But after their daughter’s birth, Toby lost his job.

Now, Kate works as an assistant music teacher. Meanwhile, Toby takes care of baby Jack and Hailey. But Toby recently told Madison (Caitlin Thompson) that he’s having a hard time adjusting to the stay-at-home dad lifestyle. He also decided to keep his true feelings from Kate.

For now, This Is Us fans will have to watch how Kate and Toby’s story unfolds in season 5 episode 14. But whatever happens next, it seems Kate will have a few important conversations in multiple timelines. 

Ahead of the all-new episode, NBC released photos of teen Kate (Hannah Zeile) in This Is Us Season 5 Episode 14. The character sits down with Rebecca and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) on two separate occasions.

Meanwhile, adult Kate will spend some time with Rebecca in the present-day. The mother-daughter duo joins Madison as she goes wedding dress shopping. Then Rebecca goes to Kate’s workplace, and the two have a chance to bond.

As Kate spends some time with Rebecca and Madison in This Is Us Season 5 Episode 14, Toby will deal with things at home. According to a clip published by TVLine, the character will attempt to fix a plumbing problem. Then NBC’s teaser photos suggest that Toby calls his dad, Allan (Dan Lauria), for some help.

Meanwhile, Allan isn’t the only returning character in the new This Is Us episode. Kate and Toby’s neighbor, Gregory (Timothy Omundson) also returns and sits with baby Jack. 

Now, it seems both Kate and Toby will reunite with their parents in This Is Us Season 5. So hopefully, any marital issues that may arise will be solved soon. Stay tuned.
