Riverdale season 4 – when will it be on Netflix? Release date, cast and plot

RIVERDALE’s popularity on Netflix continues to grow with every new episode, especially now that the fourth season is streaming in the US.

However, British fans of the CW show aren't able to see the newest episodes just yet. Here's when the series will land on UK screens.

Is there another series of Riverdale?

Yes – there is a fourth season of Riverdale which is currently airing on the US version of the streaming platform.

However British fans won't be able to enjoy the new series until the season ends in the US in May 2020.

In January, 2019, it was first announced by Riverdale's showbosses that there will certainly be a fourth series to the ever-so-popular Netflix show.

It goes without saying that Riverdale is one of the biggest teen drama programmes, having amassed a global fanbase throughout its three-year run.

When did the fourth series come out?

The fourth series premiered on Netflix US on Thursday, October 10,2019.

It came out a day after the show aired on The CW in the USA.

Season one kicked off on the CW network in January 2017 while season two commenced premiered in October, 2017.

Its third run took off in October, 2018, so the fourth season very much followed suit by being released in October.

Who stars in Riverdale season 4?

All the major cast members have returned for for season four.

The list includes Camila Mendes, Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse, Archie Andrews, and Lili Reinhardt.

The forthcoming storyline is heavily centred around the death of Luke Perry, who was played by Fred Andrews in the teen drama.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa made the revelation to Vanity Fair, telling the mag: “We thought that rather than try to squeeze something in [season three], we would let the season play out and then really do it justice and honor both Luke and Fred at the beginning of season four”.

The loss of Perry “absolutely is informing and changing what we’re doing in Season 4. Especially in terms of Archie’s story but really in the overall tone of the show”.
