Riverdale's Skeet Ulrich leaves fans in tears with emotional goodbye post on last day of filming

RIVERDALE'S Skeet Ulrich left fans in tears with an emotional post on his last day of filming.

The actor, who has played F.P Jones in the American teen drama from 2017, took to Instagram to say his final goodbyes to the much-loved show.

After three years on the show, the star marked his last day on set with a snap of him playing the gang leader turned sheriff with a very heart felt caption.

He wrote: "Goodbye Riverdale…thank you for introducing me to some lifelong friendships and so many beautiful souls.

"Today is my last day on set but the experience will never leave my heart ❤️ Thank you to all of you for the love and support ?"

His fellow co-stars flocked to the comment section to show their appreciation and sadness of his departure.

Vanessa Morgan, 28, who plays Toni Topaz on the show, wrote: "No!!?"

Cheryl Blossom actress Madelaine Petsch, 26, commented: "I love you ?"

Marisol Nichols added: "Love you Skeet. Can’t wait for the world to see you’re upcoming projects ?❤️"

Meanwhile fans couldn't hold in their emotions and expressed their concern of his on screen alter-ego being killed off.


One wrote: "I hope FP isn’t Killed off?Thank you! You were awesome!"

A second commented: "I swear if he dies on the show… ?"

A third said: "We’ll miss you so much FP❤️??"

A fourth added: "why am i so SAD right now??"

Marisol Nichols, 46, who plays Hermione Lodge on The CW series, is another member of the Riverdale family who won't be returning for the fifth season next year.

Back in Feburary it was announced that the pair quit the show.

Ulrich shared a statement with TV Line that said: "I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships I’ve made on Riverdale, and I will miss seeing everyone on a daily basis.

"I’m proud to have been part of such a talented group of people, in front of the camera and behind.

"But I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on to explore other creative opportunities."

Nichols, who stars Veronica’s mum, also teased her own projects outside of Riverdale including Spiral and Saw movies.

She tweeted: "Okay, it’s official. Best fans ever. Been reading all ur tweets. Tku for the love & support.

"We’re still filming Riverdale till April so still more to come, and then 1 month till #spiral #saw movie comes out! Beyond excited. Nothing but Red heart for all of u."

Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa paid tribute to the two departing stars in a statement to TVLine.

He said: "Part of life in Riverdale — and part of growing up — is saying goodbye to people. I’m grateful to Skeet and Marisol for their incredible work on the show these last four years, and we all wish them well on their future endeavours.

"F.P. and Hermione will never be far from our hearts. And, of course, they’re always welcome back in Riverdale."

Riverdale is expected to return with new episodes in 2021 on The CW
