Sarah Ferguson, 61, joined the Loose Women panel to talk about her new romance novel, Her Heart For A Compass, and the story behind the novel. The stars of the ITV programme also addressed some other matters with the Duchess of York, including issues surrounding body image and the success of Team GB in the Tokyo Olympics. However, as the interview came to a close, the ladies also wanted to know about their guest’s love life and probed her about whether she can Prince Andrew, 61, could get back together in the future.

Jane Moore, 59, was the presenter to ask as she said to the Duchess of York: “I was reading a story the other day you were going up to Balmoral this summer.

“With Andrew and maybe your daughters and all the public comments were that you’re the best of friends and you go on holiday together, share the same house etc.

“You clearly stick up for each other and you’re the happiest divorced couple they’ve ever seen. Any chance of a little rekindling of romance there?”

Sarah replied: “Oh my goodness me. You’re all fairytale and you’ve all got your wands out. Do you know what I love?

“Andrew and I remain steadfast, in the past co-parenting, and now we’re co-grandparenting and he is such a good grandfather.”

“I get a bit of fear of missing out because he’s so good with August and he’s a thoroughly good man,” she continued.

“It’s a joy to be able to spend time as a family and that’s what I love is when we come together as a family.

“And for anyone out there, communicate, compromise and compassion, that’s our secret,” the Duchess of York concluded.

Noting their guest had completely dodged any talk about a romantic reunion, Jane replied: “Nicely swerved on the romance.”

The Duchess of York also touched on some other matters in the interview, including her response to cyberbullying and trolls.

Sarah told the panel such matters “need to be addressed” and can not simply be put under the carpet by greater authorities.

“We’ve got to help these teenagers have a clear voice and to worry about what people think,” the guest explained.

Even at the age of 61, the mother of two shared how she still worries but she wants people to “stop judging everyone else.”

Discussing her own experience of body image problems, the Duchess of York was asked whether she has developed a new confidence.

“It’s a work in progress, like any good painting,” she told the panel, telling her interviewers she was “coming to terms” with the way she looks.

“It’s been 35 years and it’s a very hard thing to do,” Sarah continued, stating how she wanted to be a voice for so many people who are suffering.

“It’s ok. Just love who you are. Keeping fighting and don’t give up,” she told those viewers watching at home.

In turn, they took to the social media platform Twitter to comment on the Duchess of York’s appearance on the show.

One viewer wrote: “Really liking Sarah Ferguson on #LooseWomen she comes across so well,” with a second posting: “Love Fergie! Hope she does become a regular Loose Woman.”

Whilst a third remarked: “What a fantastic interview with Sarah Ferguson on @loosewomen @CharleneWhite @nadiasawalha @janem and Penny.”

“Sarah is very down to earth, I like her, hope she has success in the future,” a fourth viewer replied.
