Strictly Come Dancing 2021 latest – Fans FURIOUS at 'soft' judges as Katie McGlynn exit sparks demand for huge changes

LIVID Strictly Come Dancing fans have begged BBC bosses to come up with a way to stop spoilers from leaking online ahead of Sunday’s results show.

The results are pre-recorded after Saturday’s live show, and reveal which two acts landed in the bottom two – and who has gone home.

However, this does not air until the following evening, meaning that some viewers accidentally stumble across spoilers online due to leaks.

Meanwhile, some have accused the show's judges of "going soft".

Writing in the Telegraph, TV critic Michael Hogan said: "By getting carried away with the occasion and reaching for their maximum paddles so soon, the judges have left themselves nowhere to go.

"There are still 10 live shows to go in this 13-week series. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. How can they reward hard work and improvement if they’re dishing out maximum scores before we’re even a quarter of the way through?"

    Nina Wadia slams ‘Mr Nasty’

STRICTLY reject Nina Wadia has slammed the show for the “shocking and horrible” judges’ scoring that saw her get the boot.

The ex-EastEnders actor directed most of her anger at the panel’s “Mr Nasty” Craig Revel Horwood, who gave her a measly three points for her tango in week two.

Nina, 52, says she was stunned when, during the same show, he gave double the points to Loose Women star Judi Love, despite saying her dancing was “a technical disaster.”

She said: “If you have a competition, have a level playing field. Give everybody a chance, or if not that, then at least mark accordingly.

“You can’t give someone like me a three when I’ve tried so hard and tried something so technically difficult, then at the same time give someone else who’s had a bit of a mistake a seven just because they looked good doing it.”

John Whaite’s boyfriend Paul less than impressed

John and Johannes onscreen chemistry may have rubbed John’s boyfriend Paul Atkins up the wrong way. It comes after the graphic designer appeared to look furious after his partner’s sexy dance with the south African dancer on the first live show.

John and Johannes impressed judges with their own rendition of the Tango and managed to score an impressive 30 out of 40.

But when the pair spoke to host Claudia Winkleman after their performance, Paul Atkins appeared on camera looking furious.

The presenter praised Johannes for switching leads and went on to mention John’s long-term partner Paul. Since the BBC show hit our screens in 2004, the dreaded “Strictly curse” has managed to break-up a number of relationships.

Victims of the curse include Stacey Dooley, Diane Buswell and Seann Walsh. John and Paul have been together for over a decade and got engaged in 2017.

Fans go wild as Johannes tells John Whaite he ‘loves’ him

STRICTLY’S fans tonight went wild when Johannes Radebe told dance partner John Whaite he “loved” him.

The pair sent viewers into meltdown during a “flirty” appearance on It Takes Two this evening.

The pair spoke to host Rylan Clark-Neal about their show-stopping performance over the weekend which saw them receive three tens from the judges.

Johannes admitted: “I’m still buzzing, I’m not gonna lie,” as the duo panicked about how they’re going to top their Paso Doble.

When Rylan commented on the fact that head judge Shirley Ballas was very impressed with their Movie Week routine because they had listened to her critique from the week before, Johannes said: “It was important that we incorporated what she was talking about.”

Smiling at Bake Off winner John, he then added: “And I have to say, I love this man! I really do!”

    Katie & Gorka’s ‘weird’ dancing

Strictly Come Dancing’s Katie McGlynn has admitted that it is “weird” dancing with professional partner Gorka Marquez amid feud rumours.

The pair were previously forced to hit back at speculation that they don’t get along, with viewers picking up on their “tense” body language.

Now 28-year-old Katie has confessed that she struggled with being in such close proximity to somebody else following social distancing rules amid the pandemic.

The star explained: “With Covid, I have been social distanced from other actors, so it’s just weird having to be close to somebody.

“When we did the tango it just felt very strange having to be that close to somebody and you kind of have to move as one, in sync. So it’s very strange.

“But like I said, all this is brand new to me so I’m just absorbing it all and trying to get better.”

Craig Revel Horwood ‘wants unvaccinated dancers banned’

STRICTLY judge Craig Revel Horwood wants to ban unvaccinated dancers from the UK tour, sources say.

Craig, the tour director since 2012, is said to be keen to replace them with other performers.

A source said: “Craig’s view is that there will always be a dancer to replace anyone who hasn’t been double-jabbed.

“He would like the tour policy to be, ‘No jab, no job.’

“But it remains to be seen if he can achieve that when it comes to bookings.

“Past tours have seen celebs with partners they were not with on the show so, in theory, dancers could be swapped out.”

    Party ban

Strictly stars have reportedly been “banned” from attending parties amid fears a Covid outbreak could ruin the show.

The Mirror claims contestants have been told to avoid going to big events in a bid to steer clear of catching the virus.

A show insider told the paper: “Paranoia is swirling round the BBC studios – everyone is fearful of getting Covid and ruining their chances.

“They’ve been advised to avoid big events or partying – anything that could see them testing positive for the virus.

“Producers have been very clear that health and safety come first, which means contestants have had to forego painting the town red as was customary in previous years.”

Whaite and Ayling-Ellis new 7/4 joint favourites

John Whaite and Rose Ayling-Ellis are William Hill’s new joint favourites to win this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Great British Bake-Off winner, Whaite, impressed with his near perfect Paso Doble in week three, which saw him shorten to 7/4 to take home the Glitterball trophy.

Rose Ayling-Ellis was in the top three couples and also shortened into 7/4, while last week’s high-achiever AJ Odudu drifted out to 4/1 from 5/2. Aside from Whaite, Rhys Stephenson recorded the first 10 of the series and he remains a lively outsider at 12/1.

Rupert Adams, Spokesperson for William Hill, said: “John Whaite continues to impress in this year’s Strictly and it’s no surprise to see him now share favouritism with the popular Rose Ayling-Ellis at 7/4.

“AJ Odudu is not out of the running at 4/1, while Rhys Stevenson (12/1) is another who could be finding his feet in the ballroom after a perfect 10 this week.”

Judi Love favourite for next elimination

Judi Love is the 5-4 favourite in bookmaker Coral’s betting for who is eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing 2021 next, after she just came through the dance-off over the weekend.

Ugo Monye is the 2-1 second favourite to be next to go, followed by Greg Wise at 3-1.

“Judi had a lucky escape on Sunday evening, saved by Shirley’s final vote that could of knocked her out. We think next weekend could spell the end of her stint on Strictly and make her the favourite to the next eliminated,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.

John Whaite is now the favourite to win the show according to Coral’s betting, at 7-4, after a sensational performance on Saturday.

Rose Ayling-Ellis (2-1) is the second favourite, with AJ Odudu (4-1) the third favourite.

“John leapt to the top of the leaderboard over the weekend with the highest third week score ever and he’s also now at the top of the betting, the new favourite to lift the coveted Glitterball Trophy this winter alongside his professional Johannes,” added Aitkenhead.

Dan Walker’s reason for not working Sundays

Strictly’s Dan Walker has revealed the real reason he won’t work on Sundays.

The BBC presenter said: “I’ve always had that day as a family day. Sometimes, it’s been difficult, and some people find it peculiar that that’s the stance I’ve chosen to take.

“But it’s really important. I work a lot, so I have to make up for the fact that I’m not there. My faith is important to me. It’s what makes me tick. Having that time to rest, gain perspective and concentrate on the important things in life keeps me grounded.”

AJ Odudu ‘falling for partner Kai Widdrington’

TV presenter AJ Odudu, 33, has “electric chemistry” with the cheeky pro salsa dancer, 25, and they are connecting on and off the dance floor, they believe.

Cast and crew are even betting on the pair hooking up. It would see them become the first romance of the series.

Yesterday, AJ posted a picture of newcomer Kai’s six pack on social media.

A Strictly insider said: “Everyone backstage is talking about the sparks flying between AJ and Kai. It’s very passionate and intense whenever they’re together.

“They’re both single and have really hit it off and everyone on the show is saying it’s only a matter of time.

“They’re always laughing and flirting — romance is 100 per cent on the cards.

…and an upset Gorka left in a separate car

Axed contestant Katie McGlynn’s partner Gorka Marquez was seen getting into a separate car, looking equally upset at his departure from the show.

Keeping a frown firmly fixed to his face, Gorka, 31, donned a bright blue tracksuit as he too kept his gaze to the floor and away from the cameras.

Last night, Katie became the second star eliminated from Strictly after landing in the dance-off for the second week in a row.

Katie and professional partner Gorka Marquez were also in the bottom two last week, with the judges choosing to send Nina Wadia home instead.

But her luck ran out this week, with Judi and Graziano Di Prima surviving to dance another day after impressing with their Charleston to When You’re Good To Mama from Chicago.

Katie, 28, kept her eyes down and locked on her phone screen as the cameras snapped around her car as she was driven home.

She was still wearing her dramatic make-up from her themed dance, which was based on iconic Disney villain Cruella De Vil.

The actress had swapped her sparkling red gown and black and white wig for a hoodie, leggings and a puffer jacket, pulling her hair into a ponytail.
