Strictly Come Dancing has returned with a series of compilation instalments before the 2020 series kicks off next month. Strictly: The Best of Movies aired tonight and saw Tess Daly reunited with Claudia Winkleman before the pair called up the judges and professionals. However, Tess was left speechless by Bruno Tonioli’s appearance when she video called the judge who is currently in Los Angeles.

Tess kicked off the BBC show and said: “Oh Claud it’s so lovely us two snuggling down for a movie night in.”

“It’s like we’re actually together Tess,” Claudia replied.

“I know but if we are going to do Strictly: The Best of Movies we can’t do it by ourselves,” Tess remarked.

“You are absolutely right, you get the judges I’ll get the pros,” Claudia added.

The pair then called up the judges and the professional dancers one by one and asked if they were ready for movie night.

“Gio, it’s movie night are you in?” Claudia asked Giovanni Pernice.

“Yes of course give me five minutes I’m getting ready,” he replied.

Tess called up Shirley Ballas and asked: “Shirley, you ready?”

“I’m always ready for a movie night Tess,” she confirmed.

Claudia spoke to a host of professionals who were engaged in popular lockdown activities.

Nancy Xu was busy baking in the kitchen while Karen Hauer had been caught in a compromising workout position.

Tess video called Bruno who was busy soaking up the rays in LA.

Taken aback by his tan and blonde locks, a stunned Tess remarked: “Wow Bruno.”

“Did I hear you say movie night?” Bruno questioned.

“Are you in?” Claudia asked Janette Manrara and Aljaž Skorjanec who were cuddled up in their onesies.

Dianne Buswell was seen dyeing her infamous red locks and a dapper-looking Anton Du Beke answered the phone while playing golf in his living room.

“Hey, girls, it’s movie night what will I wear?” Motsi Mabuse asked the Strictly hosts.

Oti Mabuse, who won last year’s show with Kelvin Fletcher, couldn’t resist showing off the Glitterball Trophy.

“I’ll be there with my friend,” the professional quipped before the rest of the professionals could be seen getting ready for movie night.

Last up was Craig Revel Horwood as Tess pleaded: “Come on then Craig, just you left.”

Putting aside his autobiography, he said: “Alright darlings it’s movie night.”
