The Masked Singer returned for a brand new series on New Year’s Day as Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora tried to guess which celebrities were hiding behind the elaborate costume. Robobunny impressed the audience with their first performance but fans have suspected they’ve already sussed their identity.

Robobunny’s creative costume amused the four judges as the character warned viewers they were softer than their robot exterior suggested.

After their performance, host Joel Dommett asked Robobunny if they had a clue for the audience.

They replied: “Why don’t you take a look for yourself wise guy?”

Joel scanned a QR code on the back of Robobunny which revealed the following: “I might be made of metal but that doesn’t stop me making a splash.”

Shannon added: “That clue there made me think it’s Tom Daley #themaskedsinger.”

“TOM DALEY #TheMaskedSinger,” Steven Perkins exclaimed.

“It’s Tom b***y Daley #robobunny #TheMaskedSinger,” Nic noted.

Robobunny secured their spot in the next round after going up against Mushroom.

Ahead of the series, host Joel opened up on this year’s characters.

He said: “There are some brilliant ones. We’ve got Robobunny which I’d say is one of our most advanced costumes yet, it’s huge.

“Apparently, it takes three people to get the costume onto the person. You’ve also got the cutest costume I think we’ve ever had, which is Panda.

“We’ve got a Traffic Cone who is incredible and so funny. What traffic does is they have their legs poking out the bottom but when they finish singing they just sit down so they’re just a traffic cone. It makes us all laugh.

Speaking about the competition between the four judges, he added: “They are really getting involved.

“Jonathan has really stepped up his game this series, this is the best series he has ever had.

“Someone has flipped a switch on Jonathan and he’s amazing, he’s coming up with some incredible guesses, he’s noticing some interesting clues, he’s absolutely smashing it.

“Everyone else is playing catch up with Jonathan.”

The Masked Singer continues on ITV on Sunday at 7.30pm.
