Claire Richards has revealed that Steps could reunite to perform at this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool as every member of the band would be up for it.

The iconic noughties pop group are currently taking a break, but singer Claire strongly hinted at a Steps comeback during an interview with ITV's Lorraine Kelly on Monday (February 6).

It comes after Claire was unmasked as Knitting on ITV's The Masked Singer on Saturday night (February 4) in a shock double elimination with Country actress Daisy May Cooper who revealed as Otter.

Asked by Lorraine if Steps would reform for a special halftime performance at this year's Eurovision, Claire gave fans the answer they were hoping for.

She reckoned every member of the band would be up for doing a Eurovision performance, even if some members might need more convincing than others.

Lorraine said: "Steps. I know you're taking a wee break just now. You're all doing your own thing which is fantastic. That's allowed," prompting a laugh from Claire.

She then asked: "But could you please come back together again for Eurovision for the halftime entertainment? Thank you very much."

Claire replied: "For the halftime entertainment, I think we probably all would do that."

Steps have reunited several times, most recently in 2021 with their seventh studio album, What the Future Holds Pt. 2 which included 10 new tracks as well as stripped back versions of their songs.

And the band reached number 1 in the UK with their third compilation album, Platinum, which came out last August, making them the first British mixed gender group to achieve four number 1 albums in four separate decades.
