“I’ll be back on the sofa in the autumn, but in the meantime, I plan on watching from my own sofa with little Teddy and the newest addition!”

According to the BBC, the following presenters will appear while Jones is not on The One Show:

The One Show executive editor Sandy Smith said: “I am looking forward to welcoming our guest hosts to The One Show who I am sure will do a brilliant job hosting and keeping Alex’s seat warm for her return.”

Bell’s tenure as a One Show host started on Monday, with the presenter writing on Instagram: “Ahhhhhhhh love this gorgeous lady so much.

“On her first official day of maternity leave, @alexjonesthomson just popped by for tea, biscuits and a good old natter!

“However, I think she came over to make sure I left on time for work as I’m now heading to @bbctheoneshow to keep her seat warm for the next three weeks. Can’t wait to give the new baby a cuddle!”
