The View host Whoopi Goldberg focuses on her acting projects as fans call for her to be fired from talk show | The Sun

WHOOPI Goldberg is shifting the spotlight to her acting projects.

She shared a clip fans said they "couldn't even logistically watch" after calls to have her fired from The View.

Whoopi, 66, is taking fans' minds off her talk show.

On July 7th, she instead shared a trailer for an animated film in which her voice is featured.

"Hold onto your lucky pennies. … Luck is the story about Sam Greenfield: the unluckiest person in the world," she captioned the Instagram promo.

"Luck is streaming August 5, exclusively on @appletvplus," she concluded – though fans weren't feeling so lucky in the comments.

"Bummer I don’t have Apple TV" someone wrote.

"Too bad I'll never be able to watch it, good luck," penned a third.

"Whoopi, is Sister Act 3 coming?" fumed a person begging the star to get back in the 'habit' of playing to her strengths.

Whoopi joined the view in 1997, four years after the sequel that fan was referencing.

Many are wishing she'd leave the Barbara Walters-founded women's talk show and focus on her wheelhouse – live-action comedy acting.

Especially after her tropical trip that took a turn which she hasn't mentioned on her Instagram page since June 29th.

Fans have expressed over and over again that they want Whoopi to be replaced with someone else – it reached a fever pitch in the Bahamas when the show celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The co-hosts spent the last two weeks filming there.

The Sun exclusively went inside the lavish Rosewood resort where she and her co-hosts stayed.

An oceanside six-bedroom villa-setting has customers paying about $14,358 a night.

The three-bedroom penthouse suite ranges up to $12,358 a night, while a one-bedroom ocean-view suite costs around $2,577.

Viewers called out the hosts for taking the luxury vacation and "flaunting" it on social media to begin with.

Critics claimed that many viewers at home have been at home struggling financially.

One sarcastically wrote: “How nice. Those who are struggling to put food on their tables and gas in their cars can see a vacation spot firsthand on TV.”

Another tweeted: “Great visual. Living it up in the Bahamas while the average Joe [and] Jane can’t afford to fill up their car with gas."

Whoopi made numerous on-air blunders while the show was filming in the Bahamas.

In a recent episode, Whoopi forgot her co-host's name after introducing musical guest, Ne-Yo.

The Oscar-winner attempted to pass the hosting duties over to her talk show colleague when she forgot co-host Sunny Hostin's name.

"And I think… what's your name?"

Whoopi recovered quickly as she spouted, "Sunny… Sunny has the first question."

She also pronounced Saturday Night Live's Chloe Fineman's name wrong.

"And she's also a scene-stealer in the reboot of Father of the Bride, please welcome Chloe Fine-a-man," she said.

Whoopi apologized and corrected herself multiple times to make sure she said the comedian's name right.

While introducing guests Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, Whoopi had a bit of trouble pronouncing the name of their podcast, Las Culturistas.

After trying and only being able to say it as Las Culturastas instead, she eventually just gave up and one of her co-hosts helped her out.

Also while in the Bahamas, after messing up Chloe's name, Whoopi gave the outro for the show just as her cue cards flew in the air due to a gust of wind.
