Tom Holland's Fans Are Begging Him to Date Zendaya After His Birthday Tribute to Her
With the recent news that Spider-Man is officially leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have grown more concerned than ever that Tom Holland won’t return to play the superhero. It seems that’s not the case, however. Holland has reassured that he’ll be back as Spider-Man in future films. And when it comes to the 23-year-old star, it’s not just his work with Sony and Disney that’s garnered fan attention. Fans have also long wondered if there’s been something romantic going on with Spider-Man: Far From Home co-star Zendaya.
We know Holland has a girlfriend who’s not Zendaya, but his latest birthday tribute to her on Instagram has fans telling the duo that they need to get together. Here’s what he posted and what his followers are saying.
Fans have wondered if Tom Holland and Zendaya are romantically involved for years
Since Spider-Man: Homecoming hit theaters, fans have long wondered if Tom Holland and Zendaya are more than just friends. And certain reports from alleged inside sources have also fueled the rumor mill. In July 2017, a source told People that the two were absolutely dating, but they were trying to keep it out of the public eye. As the source said, “They’ve been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye but they’ve gone on vacations with each other and try and spend as much time as possible with one another.” And another insider added, “They seem to have a really similar sense of humor and love joking around together. They have great banter back and forth.”
Sadly, while fans wanted this to be true, it appears Holland and Zendaya have both squashed the dating rumors. Zendaya told publications she and her Spider-Man co-star were not romantically involved at all, and they’re just best friends instead.

To furth prove Zendaya correct, Holland seems to have recently gotten into a relationship with someone who’s not her. According to Heavy, Holland was spotted with Olivia Bolton, a woman in her 20s he’s known since childhood, at the British Summer Time Hyde Park Festival in London. They were caught holding hands and looking quite comfortable together at the event.
Sources have since confirmed the two are together as well. Heavy notes a source told The Sun, “Tom and Olivia’s family have been friends for years but it took some time for Tom and Olivia to realize the connection between them. Tom’s been dogged with rumors about who he’s dating so finally being public with Olivia has been a massive relief for him.” Not only that, but because Bolton and Holland’s families seem to be close, there appears to be approval there as well.
Fans want Holland and Zendaya together after his birthday tribute
Holland and Zendaya fans find Holland’s new relationship quite controversial — and it seems they’re not giving up hope that maybe the Spider-Man co-stars will end up together one day. Holland recently added this photo of him with Zendaya with a sweet happy birthday message. “The birthday girl! hope you’re having an amazing day,” he captioned his post. And Zendaya replied back, “Thanks weirdo,” with the fist bump emoji.
This had fans freaking out, of course. “This pic is everything and honestly idek why u guys arent dating,” one fan commented. Another wrote, “Who else is shipping these two?” Yet another commented, “Awww you two are so cute … i hope that there is a secret relationship behind the screen.”
Many others requested that everyone should leave Zendaya and Holland’s relationship status alone on the post — though as long as this friendship exists, we doubt most are going to listen. As for how Bolton feels about their close friendship, we’re not so sure. Hopefully, she doesn’t mind all of the media attention that goes to her boyfriend and his co-star!
