Yazmin Oukhellou told she's 'lucky to be alive' as Towie star 'struggles to cope' with Jake McLean's death | The Sun

YAZMIN Oukhellou has reportedly been told she is 'lucky to be alive' following the tragic death of Jake McLean.

The 28-year-old reality star remains in a stable condition after being involved in a horror car accident in Turkey, which killed her on-off boyfriend Jake, 33.

Following the accident, Yaz pulled herself from the overturned Mercedes and climbed from a ditch then desperately waved down passing cars nearby.

A man pulled over and helped Yazmin, whose arm was bleeding, then called emergency services who tried to save Jake.

They careered around 70ft from the road as they went round a bend, plunging 30ft into a ditch at 4.30am on Sunday while driving from seaside tourist resort Bodrum to Yalikavak.

Now, it's reported that doctors were left "amazed" Yaz only suffered injuries to her arm following the crash.

A source told the Daily Mail: "Doctors have told Yazmin that she is very, very lucky to have walked away from this.

"But Yaz is unable to feel any sense of relief because her heart has been ripped in two over Jake's death. She still can't come to terms with what has happened."

The insider also claimed that Yaz – who has been a regular cast member on TOWIE since 2017 – is "desperate" to return home to the UK.

"Doctors won't discharge Yaz until they are happy she's in a fit state to fly home," they continued. "Understandably Yaz is desperate to get back home as soon as possible so she can be among family and friends."

The Sun Online has approached Yazmin's representative for comment.

Yazmin is being treated for “extremely serious” arm injuries in a private hospital with mum Lisa by her side.

Prosecutors in Bodrum believe the crash was an accident but Jake may have been going over 40mph.

They are investigating whether Jake may have been drink-driving as the crash happened in a “touristy area” around the time nightclubs close.

They are awaiting autopsy results which will establish if he had any alcohol in his system.

An official from the prosecutor’s office told The Sun: “Yazmin was awake, she got herself out the car and on to the road and shouted ‘help me, help me! My friend is dead’.

"Her arm was bleeding but she somehow managed to get to the road. The driver helped her with her injuries and called emergency services.

“Jake Robert McLean was speeding. When he was turning, he went over the edge. On the turn he didn’t push the brake, that’s why he flew off.”

Yazmin was wearing a seatbelt but it is feared Jake – who was apparently in Turkey for a business deal – was not.

Meanwhile, it comes after Jake's mother Anita Walsh claimed the pair were arguing before her son's death.

A source in the Bodrum prosecutor’s office said: “She has told us he may have been arguing with Yazmin, which caused the car to crash. She is very shocked and upset about what has happened.”

Jake rose to fame when he dated fellow Towie star Lauren Goodger, 35, who is said to be devastated by the accident, between 2012 and 2016.
