  • Bill Cosby’s spokesman said that she no longer wears it all the time
  • He said there was no trouble in the relationship and the marriage remains strong

  • Bill Cosby, 84, was released from prison on June 30 after three years

Bill Cosby’s wife of almost 60 years was seen on Friday without her wedding ring, sparking concern about the state of their marriage.

Camille Cosby, 77, was spotted in New York City, leaving the townhouse where she has been living with Bill since his release from prison on June 30.

Bill, 84, was freed on a technicality after a judge ruled that he should not have faced trial for sexual assault, because he had made an unwritten agreement with a previous district attorney.

He went straight from prison to his Pennsylvania mansion, and then to New York to be reunited with Camille, who he had not seen since his 2018 conviction.

Convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault, Cosby had not wanted his wife, or daughters, to see him as a prisoner.

She was not wearing her wedding ring, giving rise to speculation about their marriage. Bill Cosby’s spokesman, however, said that their reunion on July 1 was emotional and heartfelt

Camille Cosby did not answer questions as she strode into the home

Camille is the mother of his five children – Erika, Erinn, Ennis, Ensa and Evin.

Bill and Camille purchased the 12,000-square-foot home on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in 1987 for $6.2 million, and reportedly sank $1.2 million more into it for renovations.

Camille did not answer questions when she was seen stepping out on Friday.

However, Cosby’s spokesman Andrew Wyatt has insisted that the couple are very much together, saying: ‘I know many people who don’t wear rings and they haven’t worn them in 30 years.

‘It’s hilarious because Mr. & Mrs. Cosby have been happily married for 57 years and counting.’

Last week, he described their July 1 reunion to DailyMail.com, saying it was ‘like watching teenage love.’

He said: ‘The way she touched him and said, ‘Billy.’ He said, ‘My dear Camille.’

The actor, who is planning a comeback tour, told DailyMail.com last week: ‘I just got a fresh [hair]cut for this birthday dinner tonight.

‘In the words of James Brown, It’s a man’s world but it wouldn’t be nothing without…Mrs Camille Cosby.’

He turned 84 on July 12.

Camille and house staff have been taking care of Bill since his release and until Friday had not left the luxurious building.

Various food packages from wellness firm UNFI have been arriving while the pair are holed up, and guests have been spotted coming and going.

News of the Supreme Court’s decision came on June 30.

Wyatt recalled that when he first got wind of it, he kept it to himself.

He said: ‘I didn’t tell anyone because it’s been a roller-coaster and so many people have come with information saying that he’s not going to be sentenced, he’s not going to be charged, he’s not going to be convicted…It’s emotionally and mentally draining.’

Wyatt wanted to be sure that it was true before breaking the news to Camille.

When he did, she too struggled to wrap her mind around what she was being told.

He said: ‘I called Mrs. Cosby and said, ”You’re not going to believe this. They’ve vacated his entire conviction. They threw it out in perpetuity.”

‘And she said, ”No, we need to check this.”’

At the time Camille was on her way from the family’s Massachusetts home to New York.

Wyatt was already on the road to Pennsylvania and told her: ‘I’ll bring him to you.’

According to Wyatt, at that same moment Cosby was asleep in his cell, oblivious to it all.

Cosby told Wyatt he had been in a deep sleep when guards opened his door and told him: ‘Get up. You’re free.’

Wyatt said: ‘He said, ‘I heard all these inmates shouting, kicking the doors, shouting ‘Get outta here Bill, Uncle Bill, the Godfather.’

Cosby is completely blind having lost his sight to glaucoma many years ago and told Wyatt: ‘I thought it was a fight going on. I don’t know what’s happening.’

Later that night Cosby admitted to Wyatt that he didn’t want to go to sleep for fear that when he woke up, he would find that it was all a dream after all.

It is seven months since the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania heard Cosby’s appeal on two grounds.

His lawyers argued against the admissibility of a damaging deposition given by Cosby in civil proceedings brought by Andrea Constand, and against the decision by trial judge Steven O’Neill to permit five other women testify to allegedly similar ‘prior bad acts’ at his second trial in 2018.

Camille Cosby has steadfastly supported her husband, and accused Judge O’Neill of racism.

She wrote on his Instagram: ‘Now, after more than 50 years of work, that humanized the dehumanized; which also challenged the perpetual architects of racist, exploitive and greedy maneuvers that have enabled them to divide and conquer, my husband has been severely redefined by Judge O’Neill, despite having zero proof.’
