The former Tory leader has spoken of his ‘great patriotic struggle’ with his weight in the past.

Speaking about his exercise regime in the past, the 52-year-old previously said: ‘In terms of how I keep body and soul together I try and stay a little bit fit, so I try and go for a run a week, I try to play a game of tennis once a week and I try not to go to bed that late.’
