Hello… is this a clue Adele’s set to unveil new blockbuster album? Series of mysterious ’30’ light projections appear in cities worldwide

  • Adele fans speculated the singer is set to release her new album last night
  • Mysterious ’30’ light projections and billboards seed in cities around the world
  • The singer is now 33, but ’30’ would fit the pattern of her previous three records

Fans of Adele were last night excitedly speculating that the singer is about to release her new album after a series of mysterious ‘30’ light projections and billboards appeared in cities around the world.

While Adele is now 33, the album title would fit the pattern of her previous three hit records – 19, 21 and 25 – which were all named after her age at the time she wrote the songs.

If that is the case, Adele would have written ‘30’ in the same year that she split from husband Simon Konecki.

On Friday, fans took to social media after ‘30’ displays were spotted in cities including London, Dublin, Belfast, Dubai, Stockholm, Singapore and Seoul.

One fan claimed to have spoken to a sign operator, writing: ‘Spoke to a gent running the projector who said he was contracted by Sony [Adele’s record label] to run it.

‘No way this isn’t for Adele’s next album.’

While Adele’s spokesman has so far declined to comment, many suggested the singer had hinted at the title of her next album in a 2019 Instagram post, writing: ‘30 will be a drum ’n’ bass record to spite you.’

One fan wrote: ‘I’m shaking, Adele is coming. OMG. #30’ while another wrote on Friday: ‘Finally, the Queen is back! Adele is coming!!’

There have been unconfirmed reports in the US that Adele will stage a concert in Las Vegas to launch the new record – which will be broadcast around the world.

The singer has transformed herself in recent years, losing five stone, and is currently dating LA-based sports agent Rich Paul.

She has a £25 million Beverly Hills mansion and bought the £18.5 million home opposite for ex-husband Konecki so he could be close to their nine-year-old son Angelo.

Adele’s friend, talk-show host Alan Carr, claimed he had heard tracks from the new album. ‘I’ve actually heard some tracks on it. Oh my God, it’s so amazing. The voice is like an old friend,’ he said.
