Most viewed homes of 2019 revealed as a £30MILLION nine-bed mansion and a 400-year-old country pad

A £30MILLION nine-bed mansion and a 400-year-old country pad are among this year's most viewed homes, an eye-watering survey has revealed.

These luxurious properties might be completely unaffordable for most, but that doesn't stop us all from dreaming.

COUNTRY LIFE

According to Rightmove, Brits have expensive taste when it comes to window shopping of the dreamiest kind.

And there's a lot of staggeringly sweet places where you could invest your cash.

Most viewed of them all is a contemporary rural pad in Chigwell, Essex.

The nine-bedroom home comes with a hefty £4,999,995 price-tag – and interestingly, a mirror above the master room's bed.

Mega-mansion delights abound in this pleasure palace – including a home cinema, games room and two dressing rooms – all enveloped by some truly stunning gardens.

LONDON CALLING

But if you've got a limitless budget and a taste for city life, you might choose instead to park your wealth in a £30m mansion in Phillimore Gardens, one of London's most expensive streets.

Seven bedrooms are set over five floors, with a host of grand reception rooms to entertain a fleet of friends.

Shame the mortgage works out at an extraordinary monthly payment of £141,030.

Contrast this to a Cornish oasis for nearly a tenth of the price – still a jaw-dropping £3,750,000.

ESSEXY THING

The hideout on the River Fal in Truro boasts five bedrooms and winding stone steps that lead to the rear of the house from the back garden.

It even has its own slipway access to the water, ideal for any keen sailor.

Rather a pad with a pool than the open water? The village of Prestbury in Cheshire has a seven-bedroom home up for grabs with a stunning indoor pool.

Set in a village popular for celebrity living, the nearly £4million mansion offers open-plan living and a relaxation room, as well as an impressive garden and gorgeous woodland views.

TRURO LOVE

But what about a big pad in the country? Costing £3,950,000, the ten-bedroom Canonteign Manor in Exeter is advertised as combining "400-year-old origins with modern technology".

Ten acres of private countryside, an outdoor swimming pool, hard wood floors and stone fireplaces are all part of the package – at a fraction of the London mansion price.

Property expert Miles Shipside said: “It’s always fascinating to see which properties on Rightmove have captured the imagination of the British public it’s no surprise to see these five homes at the top of our list.

"From multi-million-pound country manors to waterfront hideouts and exclusive London mansions, each of these jaw-droppingly impressive homes has something which makes them unique.

"Whether it’s people looking for design inspiration or others who’re curious to glimpse inside aspirational properties, Rightmove is the place to satisfy all your property desires.”
