Mum of one, 29, left with horrific injuries after jealous ex kidnapped her and ‘tried to hack off her breasts’ – The Sun

A WOMAN has been left with horrific injuries after her jilted ex-boyfriend beat her with a baseball bat and tried to cut off her breasts, she claims.

Mum-of-one Tatiana Borkina, 29, was returning home from work when she was attacked by her ex-boyfriend Maksim Klimov in the small town of Zheleznogorsk-Ilimsky, Russia.

Reports say Klimov forced Tatiana in his car and drove her to the wood where he then beat her up with a baseball bat.

Recalling the events, Tatiana said to local media: ''He [Klimov] started beating me with the bat on the head and legs.

''After that he stabbed me with a knife in the left breast and repeatedly twisted it inside my body.

''I began to black out and he thought that I was dying. He said, 'Goodbye', and went away.''

Tatiana says she was attacked by her abusive ex for refusing to rekindle their romance.

She said: ''He [Klimov] was jealous of my six-year-old son. He constantly quarrelled with me and beat me up.

''When I told him that we are done he said, 'If you break up with me, you'll end up at the cemetery'.''

According to Tatiana, she regained consciousness after her tormentor drove away.

Bleeding from her wounds, the woman crawled about 300 metres (984 feet) to the motorway where she was spotted by a passing driver who took her to hospital.

Tatiana was admitted to the intensive care unit on the verge of death and underwent several surgeries. Doctors stitched her wounds and stabilised her condition.

Pictures taken at the hospital show huge stitches on the victim's head and left breast which Klimov apparently tried to hack off.

Police launched a criminal case for attempted murder against Klimov, who has since been arrested.

He faces 10 years in prison if convicted.

A statement of Investigative Committee (Russian police) says: ''The suspect is now in temporary detention. A decision will be made by a court on a two month custody period. The investigation continues.''

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN RUSSIA

  • In 2017, Russia dramatically reduced penalties for domestic abusers, downgrading domestic violence from a criminal offence to a misdemeanour for first-time offenders
  • Activists have claimed there is now a 'crisis' of domestic violence in Russia as domestic violence figures climb – they were up by 40 per cent between 2002-2006
  • Russian authorities have also recently claimed that men are more likely to suffer from discrimination in domestic violence cases – with no factual evidence to back this up
  • The European Court of Human Rights has posed serious questions to the government relating to several domestic violnce cases – including one where a husband chopped off his wife's hands with an axe, but her repeated calls to police in the weeks before had been ignored
  • Despite these claims from government, the country’s interior ministry said domestic violence kills around 14,000 women per year – one every 40 minutes.
  • A report by Human Rights Watch alleged Russian police were refusing to register or investigate reports of domestic violence submitted by women
