Russia calls Trump an ‘agent’ after pic emerges from White House meeting with country’s foreign minister – The Sun

RUSSIAN state TV has branded President Donald Trump an "agent" after last week's White House meeting with their top foreign diplomat.

TV channel Rossiya 1 aired a news segment called "Puppet Master and 'Agent' – How to Understand Lavrov's Meeting With Trump."

Mikhail Gusman, first deputy director of ITAR-TASS, Russia's oldest largest news agency predicted a bleak post-presidency life for the sitting US president in an appearance on the Russian program Sunday Evening With Vladimir Soloviev,

"Sooner or later, the Democrats will come back into power. The next term or the term after that, it doesn't matter… I have an even more unpleasant forecast for Trump. After the White House, he will face a very unhappy period."

"Should we get another apartment in Rostov ready?" asked host Vladimir Soloviev.

Soloviev's reply references former Ukranian President Viktor Yanukovych, who was accused of corruption and cronyism by Ukrainian citizens.

Yanukovych fled Russia in 2014 and was removed from office by a Parliamentary vote spurred by mass civilian protests, which he called an "armed coup," according to Newsweek.

He's since allegedly moved to a residence close to Moscow.

Russian program Vesti Nedeli furthered the puppet/puppeteer imagery in the official news photo of the two politicians  by pointing out that Lavrov is standing behind a sitting Trump.

Trump discussed arms control, China negotiations, and other issues with Lavrov in a second Oval Office meeting last Tuesday, the same day House Democrats put forth articles of impeachment justified by the president's relationship with Russia, CNN reported.

Trump called the conversation, which was closed to American media, a "very good meeting" and mentioned that he and Lavrov discussed "election meddling."

Several Russian programs have theorized about the country's hostile relationship with the US.

Vesti Nedeli host Dmitry Kiselyov has accused Democrats and the American entertainment industry of trying to undermine Trump's popularity.

In an October appearance on The Evening With Vladimir Soloviev, political scientist Dmitry Evstafiev said he believed Trump intends to destroy the Republican party for his own long-term survival.

Semyon Bagdasarov, director of the Moscow-based Center for Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies, blatantly labeled the US Russia's "enemy" on Soloviev's show.

"The United States is the enemy. It is our enemy. It is a hostile state that aims to destroy our country… We are at war!"
