'Socialist' AOC slammed as a hypocrite for parking 'her $59k Tesla ILLEGALLY' behind DC Whole Foods

REP Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been slammed as a hypocrite after pictures emerged allegedly showing her $59,000 Tesla parked illegally outside a DC Whole Foods.

The parking scandal was first pictured by the Washington Free Beacon who claimed that the Whole Foods is located close to AOC’s luxury DC apartment.

The socialist congresswoman, 31, has previously railed against Tesla and Whole Foods owner Amazon as well as their billionaire owners Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

Alleged pictures of her car show a white Tesla with a New York license plate and a congressional parking pass on the dashboard illegally parked on May 14.

Free Beacon reported that the same Whole Foods offers free parking for its elite customers.

The sophomore congresswoman, who earns a salary of $174,000, first told Vanity Fair in October that she had “just got a car.”

At the time, she also said that she was "very lucky that I have not gotten a parking ticket."

In an Instagram live in February, she said that she decided to get the car “due to Covid” and revealed that the car is electric as she attempted to hit back at her critics.

"I usually travel by train, but due to COVID I now drive by car, I travel by car," she said.

"Not a combustion engine vehicle, but I travel by car between New York and D.C."

AOC did not specify which kind of car she has but car blog Tire Meets Road speculated that she most likely owns a Tesla Model 3 Long Range.

It notes that it is one of the only electric vehicle models capable of making the trip from New York to DC on a single charge.

The model costs between $46,000 and $59,000.

Sources told the Free Beacon that they had seen Ocasio-Cortex driving a white Tesla in the area and claimed that another member of Congress reported her driving the car into the Capitol.

She was slammed on social media on Thursday as pictures of her alleged illegal parking were shared online.

“Why is @AOC even shopping at @Wholefoods when it's owned by @JeffBezos? She made such a stink about Amazon in NYC, was that for the publicity? I am so tired of these hypocrites. If you're gonna talk the talk, you better walk the walk. spare me with your whole foods & Tesla,” one Twitter user wrote.

“So, the "working-class hero" @aoc drives a tesla, and drives/parks like an a**hole. Doesn't surprise me in the least, on both counts,” wrote another.

Others defended the congresswoman despite the car’s price tag.

“So @aoc has a Tesla? Cool,” wrote sports commentator Keith Olbermann.

“You better get one too, a**hole, or that kid in your avatar picture who you don’t actually give a shit about will be living in a world where it’s 120 in SC in the summer thanks to your stupidity and wastefulness of natural resources.”

“If that's AOC's Tesla… it's a single motor Model 3. They lease for like 340 a month,” added screenwriter Evan Dickson.

“Not having to pay for gas on top of that makes them one of the cheapest cars to lease (lower range cars are often more expensive leases because they devalue quickly).

“Not exactly bougie.”

It comes after AOC attacked Tesla during a climate change town hall in 2018.

She has pledged to rail against the billions of dollars in tax breaks and low-interest loans the company has received.

"For far too long, we gave money to Tesla, we gave money to a ton of people and we got no return on our investment that the public made in creating technologies, and it's about time we get our due because it's the public that funded and financed a lot of innovative technologies," she said.

The congresswoman had also spearheaded a campaign in 2019 that resulted in Amazon pulling the plug on a second headquarters in Queens.

The headquarters would have brought 25,000 jobs to the area.

Yet AOC was angered by the over $3billion in tax incentives the company was awarded to open the office.

Residents had also feared it would lead to crowded subways and soaring rents.

The New York-native has also described the existence of billionaires as a “policy failure.”

Tesla founder Elon Musk, 49, and Amazon owner Jeff Bezos, 57, are worth an estimated $160billion and $200billion respectively.

A request for comment from the congresswoman’s office was not returned.
