A swimmer has been ‘nipped’ by a crocodile at a popular Australian waterfall in the Northern Territory. 

The incident happened at Wangi Falls on Sunday, prompting rangers to close the lower pool for swimming until the freshwater crocodile is removed.

‘Unfortunately a cranky freshwater crocodile has nipped someone at Wangi Falls this afternoon,’ NT Parks and Wildlife said.

‘As a precaution the lower pool will be closed for swimming until it is removed.’

On July 10, two people were reportedly bitten by a crocodile and suffered mild lacerations. 

The upper pool, Cascades and nearby Florence Falls and Buley Rockhole are still open for swimming.
