Three injured in pair of separate shootings in Brooklyn

Three people were struck by gunfire in a pair of separate shootings in Brooklyn early Friday, police said.

The first incident happened just after midnight outside 1 St. Pauls Court in Flatbush, where a BMW rolled up and a gunman opened fire, police said.

A man in his 30s was shot in the back and a 28-year-old woman was hit in the knee, according to cops.

The triggerman then jumped back into the white sedan, and drove off north on the street, cops said.

The injured were taken to King County Hospital Friday, and they were not cooperating with cops. Both are expected to survive, according to cops.

Another shooting erupted around 1:30 a.m. at 639 Union Street in Gowanus after a dispute, police said.

A 24-year-old was shot in the left leg and the gunman took off in an unknown direction in a blue Honda SUV with no plates, according to cops.

The man was taken to Brooklyn Hospital Center by private means and was expected to recover, police said.

The pair of shootings come amid a surge of gun violence in New York City.

NYPD statistics show shootings have surged by nearly 200 percent over the last month with more than 200 more victims than the same time last year, according to data released Monday.

On Thursday, cops reported two shootings with two people shot. Both victims were expected to live.
