Trump slams 'pathetic & weak' GOP after Defense bill veto override & warns 'say goodbye to monuments, forts & treasures'

PRESIDENT Donald Trump has slammed the "pathetic and weak" GOP after the Defense bill veto was override and warned "say goodbye to monuments, forts and treasures."

Trump took to Twitter nearly one week after vetoing a major defense bill – titled the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) –  and insisting it "fails to include critical national security measures."

The president tweeted on Tuesday morning: "Weak and tired Republican 'leadership' will allow the bad Defense Bill to pass.

"Say goodbye to VITAL Section 230 termination, your National Monuments, Forts (names!) and Treasures (inserted by Elizabeth 'Pocahontas' Warren), 5G, and our great soldiers being removed and brought home from foreign lands who do NOTHING for us.

"A disgraceful act of cowardice and total submission by weak people to Big Tech. Negotiate a better Bill, or get better leaders, NOW! Senate should not approve NDAA until fixed!!!

The president condemned the bill in a lengthy letter on Wednesday, December 23.

He said his "administration recognizes the importance of the Act to our national security," but argued that the bill didn't include key protective measures for the United States of America.

Trump also explained that the bill failed to "include critical national security measures" and had "provisions that fail to respect our veterans and our military's history."
