Ucas track 2020: What time does it open on A-level results day and how do I login?

APPLYING for university is a tricky process at the best of times, but COVID-19 has complicated things even further.

Ucas track is the first point of call when checking to see you've been accepted into the university of your choice. Here's how it works.

When does Ucas track update?

Ucas will start updating records at exactly 08:00 on A-level results day.

You can access Ucas track here.

Your results will not show in Ucas track – you will need to get those from your school or college.

However, it may take a little longer for your university to accept offers, so keep checking your Ucas throughout the day.

What will Ucas track show?

Your status in track will depend on whether your chosen university has accepted your results.

Unconditional   – Your place on your firm or insurance course has been confirmed, (or both).

Unsuccessful   – Unfortunately you have not received grades to be accepted onto your course. See below what to do now.

Unconditional Changed Course   – Unfortunately you have not received grades to be accepted onto your course, but the university have offered you a similar course that your grades will allow you to do.

This could also mean they have deferred your offer and you will have five days to decide on this.

What are the next steps?

If you haven’t been accepted into your firm or insurance choice university, it is still worth phoning your university of choice to check they definitely cannot take you.

If you think your grades are lower than expected, you are able to request the grades that your school provided to the exam board before they were moderated.

Under new government guidelines, these grades can be used as your official grades.

To do this, you must get an Ofqual CAG request form from your school.

If these options don't sound right for you, then you have the option to go through clearing.

If you didn’t get your place at university confirmed on Ucas track, an option to ‘Add clearing choice’ on your track screen will automatically show up.

You will also get a Clearing number, which you will need to hand when you phone universities.

Clearing closes on October 20, 2020.

However, courses are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.
