ITV Big Brothers Trish apologises as shes pulled from show after historic tweets resurface

ITV Big Brother's Trish Balusa has apologised for offensive social posts that came to light following her eviction last week.

The 33-year-old, who is a favourite with fans of ITV Big Brother, said sorry for the tweets that are no longer there. She apologised to "marginalised groups" in a statement on her X account.

ITV said that Trish won't be appearing on the live spin-off show Big Brother: Late and Live, despite the reality star being scheduled as a guest.

In a statement on social media, Trish apologised for the "harmful stereotypes perpetuated" in the now-deleted tweets. "I'm aware that some very concerning old tweets of mine have re-surfaced," she said.

"And I would like to sincerely apologise for the harmful stereotypes I perpetuated and the pain I have caused to the marginalised communities and groups of people mentioned.

"There are no excuses for the ignorance that I showed and I am deeply disappointed, embarrassed and ashamed that I once made such comments. I have come a very long way since by educating myself and being educated by others on the impact and harm those views cause."

She also said: "It is part of the reason why I am so passionate about standing up for others and holding myself to a high standard of responsibility and accountability for my actions."

"I appreciate the support you've all given me on the show and I understand you feel disappointed. I know apologises can seem convenient but I mean it from the bottom of my hear: I am truly sorry. I hope it is possible for you to offer me grace and believe people can change."

"I am committed to being the person I am now, the person you have known my as someone who speaks up, stands for what they believe in and always open to growth and accountability," the Big Brother star wrote before singing her message off with: "Love Trish".

The tweets referred to minority groups, leaving fans shocked after Trish accused others of microaggressions while in the house.

A spokesperson for Big Brother said: "This weekend, we have been made aware of concerning historical tweets. We are currently looking into why they were not identified by the independent supplier we engage to review the digital footprint of potential Housemates as part of our pre-checks."

Trish was evicted with Chanelle on Friday, with the latter admitting she didn't know why she was evicted, as she addressed recent rows and her rule-break in the house. After host AJ asked her to admit who she was talking about when she said she'd "forgive but not forget", she refused.

Fans were shocked with the results as Trish seemed to be a huge hit with viewers.
