Nikki also runs a school that helps teach others how to speak to their pets using ‘telepathy.’
She says she can have a ‘direct conversation’ with the pet by ‘receiving images or thoughts in her mind,’ and she has claimed to have helped solve behavioral issues and uncover illnesses even vets couldn’t identify through her sessions.
Nikki spoke about her journey exclusively to DailyMail.com, while revealing how she’s able to connect with the animals just by looking at a picture of them – as well as how you can master the skill yourself.
‘I am an animal communicator. What that means is, I have a direct conversation with an animal, it’s a two-way dialogue back and forth,’ she dished.
‘I communicate with the animal by receiving images or thoughts in my mind, as well as feelings in my body.
‘It’s a way for the animal to express what they want or need, like or dislike – it’s a two-way conversation with animals that are living or those that are in spirit.
‘It’s very much like a dialogue like I’m having with you right now, but with the animal. Like a back and forth. It’s just like if you were talking to a human family member.’
According to Nikki, talking to animals was not a ‘gift’ that she was born with, but rather, it was a ‘skill’ that she taught herself to do at age 28.
‘It’s something that every human is capable of doing, but I was not aware that this was even possible until I was 28 years old,’ she dished.

‘I learned about it through a friend of a friend, she could do animal communication, so I started buying books and reading.
‘In all the books I had bought, every single author said that every single human can learn to do this.
‘I was like, “If all these authors are saying this, I’m a human, let me try.” So I started doing practice sessions with anyone that would give me feedback.’
Nikki explained that the first step to learning how to communicate with your pets was to make sure you’re living a healthy ‘lifestyle.’
‘Learning animal communication is only 10 per cent skill, and 90 per cent your lifestyle,’ she continued.
‘Are you happy? Are you healthy? Are you sleeping? All of that.
‘Animal communications is not a gift, it’s not something that was just gifted to me, it’s something every human being can do.
‘You just have to learn how to receive messages and how to decipher what’s coming through.
‘It’s weird, it’s not like I can say to you, do step one, two, three, four and bam, you’re gonna talk to animals. You have to figure out the way you best receive messages.’
She also said that ‘awareness’ was vital. She added: ‘Animal communication is done through telepathy, non-verbal communication.
‘It’s as simple as your gut feeling – your cell phone rings and before you look at it you know who’s calling you, or a friend or family member is about to say something and before they speak it out loud, you answer their questions because you know what they’re going to say. That’s telepathy at its core.
‘Look at a picture of an animal and just close your eyes and see what thoughts come to you.

‘You have to set the intention to connect with the animal, that’s the most important step.
‘That means telling yourself, “OK I’m gonna sit here and connect with this specific animal right now.”
‘When you sit there and close your eyes with that intention, images will pop into your mind or phrases will be implanted into your brain that you weren’t thinking of two seconds prior or maybe you feel an ache or pain in your body that wasn’t there a minute ago and that’s because the animal has pain there.’
In addition, Nikki stressed the importance of practicing. She explained that seeing the results will give you ‘validation’ and boost your ‘confidence’ – which will only make the connection easier to form.
‘In the beginning, it’s difficult to really differentiate between your own imagination and a message truly from the animal,’ she admitted.
‘The way to get better at this and learn is by practicing with any friends or family who will give you feedback.
‘Because in this line of work, getting the validation from the humans who are like, “Oh my gosh, that was correct, how did you know that?” That is the only way to build the confidence to see, “OK, I’m really doing this.”‘
The former lawyer said she did free practice sessions for about eight months while also working as an attorney before she made the decision to quit the law firm and focus on being an animal communication full time.
She had already started posting about her experiences online, and had racked up a slew of followers on Instagram and TikTok – and she credits her attention on social media with helping her turn it into a business.
‘I got to the point where I had to make a decision, what path am I going to take? Stay a lawyer or go full-time animal communication?’ she recalled.
‘I knew I wasn’t going to excel any further while still being an attorney. At that time, I had enough of a following on social media and enough of a backlog of clients that it was sustainable.
‘I was like, “You know what, I’m gonna take the leap and I’m gonna quit the law firm.” The moment that I left the law firm everything exploded.
‘The universe was just waiting for me to leave the firm to open the flood gates to the world of animal communication.
She said ‘it’s something that everyone is capable of doing’ if they learn to master ‘telepathy.’ She suggested: ‘Look at a picture of an animal, close your eyes, and see what comes to you’
According to Nikki (seen with her husband), people come to her if a pet has a ‘behavioral issue’ or if they want to know how they can ‘enhance their animal’s life in any way’
‘I went even more viral on TikTok and it just took off. It was through the power of social media that this happened, absolutely.’
Nikki now has more than 312,000 followers on TikTok and 7.7 million likes across her videos, as well as 88,000 followers on Instagram.
She also has a waitlist of about 7,600 people.
Nikki does one session a day, which usually lasts about 90 minutes and costs the owner $550.
The sessions are done remotely, rather that in person, and involve Nikki sitting alone in her office and looking at an image of the animal.
She then communicates with it through her mind, while relaying the conversation out loud and recording it on her phone so that the owners could hear what was said between them afterwards.
‘I choose to do it that way instead of over Zoom [with the owners watching] because for me, I find I can get a lot deeper into the session and a lot more specific information when I’m not having a dialogue with the human during the session,’ she shared.
‘I sit down in my room and close my eyes and just breathe to settle the body and get in the zone for the session. I don’t want to think about anything in my life, any emails I have to get to.
‘I’ll know the animal’s name, gender, and whether they’re living or in spirit. Then I look at the animal’s photo and I take a couple seconds to picture my heart connecting with their heart – I’m a very visual person so I imagine a beam or a light connecting the animal and I through our hearts.’
She added that ‘disconnecting energetically’ after she was done was ‘very important’ to avoid ‘feeling’ the animal’s ’emotions’ all day long.
‘If they’re an anxious animal or if they’re sick, you’re gonna walk around the rest of the day with their headache or right foot pain or their anxiety,’ she revealed.
‘You have to set the intention to separate yourself from the animal. I just sit there quietly and separate myself from the animal, take a couple deep breaths.
‘Then I go outside and shake it off, do the Hokey Pokey in my grass, look at the sky and take a couple breaths.’
According to Nikki, there are three main reasons why people come to her. First, is because the animal is having a ‘behavioral issue’ and the owner ‘wants to know what they could to help solve the problem.’
Second is after an animal dies, the owner wants closure or wants to ensure the pet ‘wasn’t in pain.’
And third is when an owner is just curious about how they can ‘enhance their animal’s life in any way.’
‘[For the latter], there’s not really an issue, they just want know if their animal is happy, what they want more of, what they don’t like,’ she added.
Nikki recalled one time that she communicated with a dog named Dexter who was ‘having an issue with another dog in the home.’
She said the two pups were ‘attacking each other over everything’ and that the owners were desperate for some relief.
‘What happened was, like a lot of my sessions, people come to me as a final straw,’ she said.
‘Nothing else worked, training didn’t work, puppy school didn’t work, so why not try the animal communicator. We have nothing else to lose.’
During the session, Nikki said ‘Dexter told her that he wanted to be an only dog’ and that he missed ‘going out in town and eating dinner with his mom.’
She continued, ‘I explained to Dexter that being an only dog was not an option. I said also to him, “If you want to continue going out into town and having dinner with your mom, you have to be kind to [the other dogs].
‘”Because your mom can’t take you out in public if you’re attacking each other and causing a raucous.”‘
In addition to her sessions, Nikki also does monthly workshops to help others master the skill. She charges $225 for a four-hour class with her
She also offers a $64-a-month program for whose who want to ‘dive deeper,’ which includes weekly Q&As with her
She said a week after the session, she received an update from the owner, who said the problem had been miraculously resolved.
‘[The owner] said that the day I did the session, Dexter was a completely different dog. He didn’t attack [the other dog] one time,’ she shared. ‘There was no fights.
‘The transformation, she couldn’t believe it. For seven whole years it was problem after problem with this dog, Dexter, and they were just blown away by how quickly it was resolved through a simple communication.
‘Sometimes all it takes is the dog feeling heard. Not every session has an instant impact like that, but that’s the power of animal communication.
‘The issue in this home was so traumatic for everyone involved and it just stopped after the session.’
She also remembered another time early on in her career that she has ‘never forgotten.’
She said a family with a cat named Finnegan came to her because he was ‘very ill’ and would not get out of his bed.
After visiting numerous vets who were unable to ‘figure out was going on,’ they turned to Nikki despite being ‘non-believers.’
‘When I connected with Finnegan, right when I looked at his picture, my bottom right jaw started aching,’ Nikki said.
‘When I asked him what was going on, in my mind, I was drawn to one specific tooth on the bottom, right hand side of my mouth.
‘So his mom took him to the vet to get an X-ray, and sure enough, that tooth that he had pointed to had an abscess and it was very infected.
‘So they pulled the tooth and gave him medicine and within a day and a half he was back to his normal self. It was so awesome.’
In addition to her sessions, Nikki also does monthly workshops to help others master the skill.
She charges $225 for a four-hour class that involves practicing on three animals while receiving ‘feedback’ from the owner and ‘tips and techniques’ from Nikki.
She also offers a $64-a-month program for whose who want to ‘dive deeper,’ which includes weekly Q&As with her.
‘You need zero experience to join my class,’ she said. ‘I would say, probably 85 per cent of my students never even heard of animal communication until they found me on social media.
She said she people have called her a ‘fraud’ or ‘schizophrenic’ online, and have accused her of ‘taking advantage of grieving owners’ – but insisted she just wants to ‘help’
‘You can grow into this very, very fast if you put in the time. It takes time, you have to practice, you have to do it to be able to excel at it.’
While Nikki has had so much success, she admitted that there are some downsides to her profession.
She said she has received tons of nasty comments from online trolls who call her a ‘fraud’ or ‘schizophrenic,’ and accuse her of ‘taking advantage of grieving owners.’
‘That’s so heart-wrenching to me because I’m doing the opposite. I would never want to take advantage of someone, my whole work is to help them,’ she told DailyMail.com.
She admitted that she used to be heavily affected by the hate, but now, she’s learned to ‘focus on the positive.’
‘In the beginning it was very upsetting, it completely derailed me, I was a mess. But my husband said something one day that changed everything,’ she shared.
‘He said, “Nikki, the only reason these comments are bothering you is because you’re not confident. If you were totally confident in what you do, they wouldn’t phase you.”
‘And I was like, “You know what, you’re right.” It took some time but now I know it’s not for everyone. I know it’s a little weird.
‘We’re not raised thinking this is normal. The comments definitely were upsetting in the beginning but now they don’t even phase me.
‘I just laugh because they’re so ridiculous. And it’s almost a blessing to have haters because it’s more engagement on my posts.
‘My algorithm doesn’t know the different between positive or negative comments so it just boosts it and my stuff gets into the eyes of the people who believe in me.
‘It’s been a journey, handling social media, but I’m used to it now and they don’t even phase me.
‘For every mean comment there’s like 60,000 people that liked the post. I’m not here to convince anyone of anything I’m just here to share what I receive and help the people who want help.’
