Le Cirque owner plans relaunch famed restaurant … on a boat

Le Cirque is soon to be the hottest reservation in international waters.

The famed restaurant closed in 2017 after filing for bankruptcy — and has promised ever since to make a comeback. And it’s now returning … on the high seas.

We’re told restaurant co-owner Mauro Maccioni has teamed with publicist Rolise Rachel to hold “micro-events,” starting with a bash for Cartier, aboard the yacht 7 Day Weekend. Maccioni will serve as chef, with favorites such as lobster risotto and black bass served on Le Cirque china to the tune of $12,000 for six guests and $16,000 for 13 guests. The yacht plans to be in the Hamptons and New England for the rest of the summer, then float to NYC, Miami and South Florida.

Maccioni tells us this is just a warm-up and that he intends to sign a lease for a new brick-and-mortar spot on the Upper East Side within a month. “It’s going to be fancy and elegantly done, but smaller, only about 65 seats,” he tells Page Six exclusively.

Last year, insiders told us the Maccioni family had been trying to nab a spot on the same block as Le Bilboquet, but they were turned down, and then they “really wanted” the old Chat Noir space on 66th Street.

They were Chat outta luck there, too.
