EastEnders’ Bex Fowler makes tragic suicide attempt as she struggles to cope with leaving Walford – The Sun
THERE are some devastating scenes coming up for troubled Bex Fowler in EastEnders next week.
The teenager – who’s played by Jasmin Arnold in the BBC One soap – will try to take her own life as she struggles to cope with leaving Walford and going to Oxford University.
As the week kicks off, it’s Lisa Fowler – Lucy Benjamin – who spots how distant Bex seems. She quizzes Louise Mitchell about her friend but, unsatisfied with Lou’s response she decides to speak to Bex’s mum, Sonia.
Meanwhile Bex continues to struggle with the thought of leaving Walford and reminisces about murdered Shakil Kazemi.
As her last day in Walford arrives, Bex is stunned when she discovers Sonia has arranged a surprise party. She reluctantly agrees to go.
Bex pretends to enjoy herself at the party at the Vic but, sensing she’s not okay, Lisa urges Bex to talk to Sonia about how she feels.
But Bex brushes Lisa off before sneaking away from the party. At home, all the pressure Bex has felt for the last few months suddenly becomes too much for her.
Unable to cope with the thought of leaving Walford, Bex finds herself in a dark place. While the party is still in full swing, Bex is thinking about taking her own life.
The next day, a horrified Sonia – Natalie Cassidy – finds her daughter unresponsive in bed.
As an ambulance arrives and whisks Bex away, Louise watches on in shock while Lisa is wracked with guilt.
At hospital, Sonia, Tiffany and Whitney are all relieved when Bex wakes up. Back on the Square, Stuart Highway found the note Bex left, but when he shows it to Sonia, she turns on him, adamant that it was an accident.
She later apologises and confesses to Stuart that she blames herself for Bex’s suicide attempt.
Last week EastEnders fans predicted that Bex would make an attempt to end her life after Bex looked disinterested in her own life and future.
At the beginning of the episode Bex lay in the bath and dropped her phone but didn't seem to care.
She then let herself sink down under the water in the concerning scene.
Later when she was desperate to avoid shopping for University with her mum Sonia, with fans thinking she was actively avoiding considering she had a future.
And when her best friend Louise set her up with a reporter to tell how she had tried to save her life during the hostage crisis, Louise dropped a huge hint.
She told Bex: "You didn't care about your own life at all. Hunter could have killed you and you didn't back away.
"You could have been seconds from death and you just fronted it out."
Fans took her comments to heart and think Bex is planning to take her own life.
One wrote: "Rahhh why Bex wanna drown herself in the bathtub"
A second said: "That scene with bex going underwater in the bath….. I feel a suicide coming."
Another added: "Are we heading towards a attempted suicide/depression story with bex."
