A record-setting October heatwave has seen temperatures soar to the 90s across some parts of the US, with schools closing in Ohio due to the hot weather and surfers hitting the waves in New York City.
The extreme weather saw New Orleans hit 95 degrees, Nashville reach 98 degrees and Mobile, Alabama, experience temperatures of 96 degrees.
In Washington DC temperatures remain high as runners have been pictured jogging topless and tourists stopped for iced drinks.
But it is a different story in Montana, where one woman has filmed himself jumping off a car and disappearing into 6 foot-deep snow.

Charts show the country split in two with record breaking heat and plunging temperatures
Temperature charts show the country split in two as temperatures plunged to 37 degrees in Billings, Montana and 47 degrees in Idaho Falls.
In Great Falls, Montana the temperature was just 9 degrees on Tuesday, making that their coldest temperature ever recorded so early in the season since 1886, The Weather Channel reports.
A daily record low was set in Cut Bank, Montana of 6 degrees on Monday and 1 degree on Tuesday. In Babb, Montana 52 inches of snow fell.
But forecasters say the first day of October also brought more record high temperatures across Alabama.
The National Weather Service says Muscle Shoals in northwestern Alabama had its hottest October temperature ever recorded when the mercury hit 99 degrees on Tuesday. The previous record of 97 was set on October 3, 1903.
Huntsville had its hottest October temperature ever when the mercury hit 97 degrees. That broke a previous record set on Oct. 8, 1911.
The story was the same to the south. Mobile reached 96 degrees to set a new all-time high for October, and temperatures were rising to near record levels in central Alabama.
All classes at Columbus City Schools in Ohio were canceled Tuesday due to the extreme heat.
More records could fall since forecasters say the heat will continue through early next week.

But areas of the northern Rocky Mountains looked more like mid-winter rather than early fall as a snowstorm dumped record amounts of wind-driven snow that caused hazardous travel conditions and scattered power outages.
Winter storm warnings were posted for parts of western Montana, northern Idaho and northeast Washington. Snow also was forecast for areas in Wyoming, Utah, Oregon, Nevada and California.
The brunt of the storm hit Montana where up to two feet of snow fell Saturday in the mountains and a record 14 inches fell in Great Falls.
Montana Gov. Steve Bullock declared an emergency Sunday, allowing the state to mobilize resources to help affected areas.
‘With an unprecedented winter storm throwing our state a surprise in September, state and local governments are working closely together to protect the health and safety of Montanans and our top priority is making sure that happens,’ Bullock said in a statement.
He added: ‘Montanans should heed all warnings from state and local officials, travel safely, and be cautious during this time.’
Major interstates and highways remained open, but snow and ice covered many stretches of roadway in western Montana.
Snow drifts shut down the U.S.-Canada border crossing at U.S. Highway 89, where state transportation officials also reported that 200 head of cattle were on the roadway.
A vehicle accident slowed traffic on Interstate 15 and several surrounding state highways were closed because of the snow.
And The National Weather Service issued both freeze warnings and extreme wildfire danger warnings in Utah.
The hard-freeze warnings in the western part of the state are expected to last until Tuesday, meaning outdoor plumbing and crops that have no protection could sustain significant damage.
