GMB host Piers Morgan in hysterics as he ‘lets one rip’ while mocking ‘fartgate’

Piers Morgan was left in hysterics on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, as he "let one rip" in a hilarious mockery of #FartGate.

It comes after a clip from American TV of a congressmen, who has been accused of farting during an interview.

After a suspicious noise was heard, the team filming with congressman Eric Swalwell for the US politics show Hardball with Chris Matthews claimed it was a mug moving across a table.

He was quickly accused by viewers of trumping though, something he has since denied.

Piers brought up the moment live om GMB on Tuesday, finding it hilarious.

After airing the clip, he and co-host Susanna Reid were quick to question the sound against what Eric claimed it to be.

Susanna and Piers also pointed out Eric's movement hinted it was more than just a cup.

It wasn't long before Susanna suggested he did his own impression, with a fart sound ready to play over the top.

Piers then began to impersonate the interview and what the congressman had been saying before the noise.

He was interrupted by a loud trumping noise, leading to him laughing hysterically.

Piers told viewers that #FartGate had been trending on Twitter in America, with him keen to play the video again on the show.

Most viewers saw the funny side of the moment, while others tweeted that they were not amused.

One viewer said: "You wouldn't get that fart sound effect on the BBC with presenters and crew rolling around with laughter as we just have on @GMB. This is proper Tiswas style morning telly we all need."

Another tweeted: "Fart pad is now getting record down loads."

A third commented: "Fart humor stops being funny when you become an adult."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
