Six dead after ‘car crashes into holidaymakers’ at tourist hotspot
Six holidaymakers have been killed after a car crashed into a group of 17 people in Luttach in the Ahrntal Valley in Italy.
The tourists killed were from a German travel group – with several others injured in the late-night incident.
The six died at the scene as 160 emergency services rushed to help them, report Rainews.
The eleven injured were taken to hospitals in South Tyrol and Innsbruck.
Luttach is in South Tyrol, northern Italy, and is a popular tourist destination all year round.
The local emergency service tweeted: "A serious road accident with 11 injured and 6 people dead occurred last night in Lutago.
"Press conference at 08:30 at the raiffeisen hall in Luttago."
