SAG Awards 2020: Brad Pitt jokes he’ll add his win ‘to my Tinder profile’
Brad Pitt is feeling loose this awards season.
On Sunday night, Pitt notched another win for best supporting actor for his performance in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”
“I’m going to add this to my Tinder profile,” he joked on stage.
On the red carpet, USA TODAY asked the movie star about his relaxed vibe at all the awards shows.
“I’m old. It’s amazing how much more relaxed you get the older you get,” he told USA TODAY.
But what you probably missed is that the came to the SAG Awards after falling victim to the biggest hurdle this awards season: the flu. “I went down! In fact I have it right now and I’m very contagious. Make sure you guys Purell up. Why do you think I’m wearing this coat, man?” he said. “I’m just trying to stay warm.”
And yes, he was paying attention to Sunday’s NFL playoffs, noting he was missing the Green Bay Packers v. San Francisco 49ers game. Is he feeling the loss of the Patriots this year?
“What about the fact that there will be no Saints in the Super Bowl this year?” said Pitt. “I’m still getting over that heartbreak. But my Chiefs won, so I’m pretty happy about that.”
On the red carpet Pitt also shed light on his bromance with Leonardo DiCaprio. Maybe you heard Brad Pitt calling Leonardo DiCaprio “LDC” at the Golden Globes earlier this month. But LDC’s nickname for his “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” co-star?
“‘Lover.’ He calls me ‘Lover,’ ” Pitt joked to People TV on the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet Sunday. “It’s a bit confusing, but I roll with it.”
While giving his Golden Globes acceptance speech for best supporting actor, Pitt made a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it joke about DiCaprio’s career.
“He’s an all-star, he’s a gent. … Still, I would’ve shared the raft,” he joked, referencing DiCaprio’s 1997 film “Titanic.”

DiCaprio’s character, Jack, and Kate Winslet’s character, Rose, both struggle to float on a door in the water after the Titanic sinks, and Jack ultimately dies after letting Rose have it. Fans have since pointed out that there was absolutely room for them both.
And by the way, Pitt has no strong feelings about the fact that the Oscars will, again, go unhosted: “I don’t give a (expletive),” he grinned, speaking to USA TODAY. “I don’t care either way.”
Backstage, Pitt had a moment of serious, talking about bringing his own experience to each role.
“For everything, it’s got to be personal,” said Pitt. “You’ve got to make it personal or it’s not grounded. It doesn’t land. I make everything personal, to a fault.”
