3 anti-cop protesters wanted for vandalizing Brooklyn subway station
Three ladies who helped lead anti-police demonstrations in the city’s subway system last week are wanted for vandalizing a Brooklyn station, police said Friday.
The women, wearing black coats and grimaces, were caught on surveillance camera applying bike locks to emergency exit gates and placing stickers on the walls of the Lawrence Street-Metro Tech station last Friday, authorities said.
The women, who police say were part of the protest, went into the station around 3:50 p.m., left the emergency gates open with the bike locks and posted the stickers before fleeing, cops said.
The J31 demonstrations, which took place on Jan. 31, were part of a full day of anti-cop, anti-subway fare protests organized by the group Decolonize This Place, whose goals include “no cops in the MTA, free transit [and] no harassment.”
Protesters across the city vandalized turnstiles, trains and stations with anti-cop messages.
