David Crosby, Joe Walsh To Play Concert Commemorating Kent State Shootings
Kent State University announced that Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Joe Walsh and David Crosby will headline the Commemoration Benefit Concert marking the 50th anniversary of the shooting that occurred on the campus on May 4, 1970.
The benefit concert will take place at 7 p.m. on May 2 in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on the university campus.
Proceeds from this event will help support the newly created May 4th Legacy Scholarships, each bearing the name of one of the students killed in the shooting.
Tickets for the concert will go on sale to the general public on March 6.
A Kent State University alumni, Walsh was the frontman of The James Gang, a hard rock band that became extremely popular on the local Kent and Northeast Ohio music scene.
Walsh was on Kent State University campus on May 4, 1970, at the time of the shooting.
