Rob Cross has a point to prove in Premier League Darts week 3

2018 World Champion Rob Cross used "disrespectful" odds to inspire him to upset the form book against Nathan Aspinall in Nottingham last week.

Value seekers will be hoping Cross has another point to prove against Peter Wright in tonight's Premier League Darts Week Three – because he is the 2/1 underdog against the current world champion.

They clash in the opening match in Cardiff, with Wright an odds on favourite with thepools.com 10/11.

The formbook explains the odds.

Wright averaged over 100 on seven separate occasions at last weekend's Players Championship to reach two semi-finals and has been in consistently fine form since lifting the world title at Ally Pally.

Cross, on the other hand, won just one match at the Players Championship and in their last two televised meetings Wright was triumphant.

The biggest cheer of the night, though, will be reserved for hometown hero Gerwyn Price.

He's also a favourite with the bookies, 3/4 with thepools.com as opposed to opponent Daryl Gurney's 13/5 – and those odds look deserved, too.

Superchin has never beaten Price on TV, has made a slow start to the season and was almost whitewashed by Michael van Gerwen last week, claiming a solitary leg.

The Cardiff fans will no doubt be dreaming of a Welsh double, with Jonny Clayton making his Premier League bow as this week's 'Challenger'.

Michael van Gerwen is bidding to protect his 100% record against Nathan Aspinall and Gary Anderson is last on the oche against Glen Durrant.

Premier League Darts Odds (from thepools.com)

Peter Wright 10/11 v Rob Cross 2/1

Jonny Clayton 21/10 v Michael Smith 10/11

Michael van Gerwen 4/9 v Nathan Aspinall 4/1

Daryl Gurney 13/5 v Gerwyn Price 3/4

Glen Durrant 2/1 v Gary Anderson 21/20
